Scotch Gard - does it work?

For those who have used Scotch Gard on cloth seats. In your experience does it:
a) Work well
b) Do nothing
c) Stain/make things generally worse

Thanks.

i've used the spray-on scatch guard on fabric and it just made it sticky and weird.

I have had scotch guard installed and it was worked out well especially when little kids drop there ice cream on it. So happy it cleaned up easily thanks to the scotch guard. I think I was charged about 120 for it.
