what aftermarket suspension kit is closest to OEM
when i purchased my car it was dropped on stock wheels, the ride was ok but a little bumpy. now, i just put on some g35 18" rims 225/45 front and 245/45 in the rear the ride is horrible, bumpy as hell, any pothole that the car hits it bottoms out. i need some help because im afraid that with time something is going to end up breaking.

you're really not in any danger of anything bad. possibly a bent rim, i guess. but it would have to be a pretty big hit. hard to say what would be good since you didn't say what you currently have, but Illuminas and H&R would be good. H-Techs are also a good spring for what you want.

performancepeddler.com with the .org discount they are $408 shipped. very good price and great customer service. type in 'maxima', i think, for the discount. if that doesn't work, you can always call and place the order. just tell them you're a member of maxima.org

(no sleep for 2 days and the last time I did I woke up with a bottle of tequila) anyone have a gun or sleeping pills?..

I'm using illuminas and eibachs. The ride is still nice and smooth. I can't even remember what i was like in a stock maxima anymore. I've driven my dads 04 pathfinder and the maxima is definatley stiff and you feel the road more. It feels like heaven compared to my 240sx setup so anything feels better.
Try to ride in someones car at a meet or something with the different setups and judge for yourself. I'm only 20 so I don't mind as much as much as you older guys might.
PS my car isnt dropped in my sig

i was looking into these set ups, H&R springs with Tokico illumina's or Tokico illumina's with Tokico springs. what do you guys think specially those of you who have these set ups, any big differences between these two set ups,by the way the car right now has about a 2" drop in front and 1.5" drop in the rear and it has monroe struts all around, dont know the brand of the springs it was already dropped when i bought it.

It'll be hard to find a direct comparison, but the general consensus is that the H&Rs will ride a little better and the Tokico springs will give you slightly better handling.
BTW, the Tokico springs were made by Vogtland, so if you can find Vogtland springs they'll be the same thing. I've seen them at www.ajusa.com FWIW.

I have had problems with both the blue and white illuminas struts. Getting them replaced has been easy through their warranty. I have them on ground control coilovers. First time I broke the the blues where when I hit a pothole at the rear tire and the perch where the spring sits broke off. Plus my other 3 shocks were already worn so I upgraded them to the whites(illuminas). On the whites I broke 2 more. Once the shaft compressed in and never came out. The other I broke again where the spring sits on the perch. But with all the problems Tokico always warranted them. This all happened in about 1 and a half years time.

I replaced them through the company I bought them from. From Stillen because they were the only ones back then. That is how I was able to upgrade and pay the difference. They will charge you for a new one then you send them the bad one to them and they forward to tokico and when it gets approved they credit me back.
