98 maxima fuse guide!!

I just went through the FAQs and i couldnt find something that i need. I just bought a 98 maxima gxe and i was wondering if any of you guys can send me a guide that tells you what fuse is for what. The plate that comes on the car wasnt there when i bought it so i have no idea and i dont feel like taking out all the fuses to replace the ones that are out. (esp my cig lighter-i dont smoke btw its hooked up to something else)

1998 Maxima fuses

I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima. My dashboard gauges are working intermittently. I've read the posts re: check fuses. I've looked at my fuse panel cover but can't determine which fuse is for dashboard. It doesn't say dashboard or gauges so I'm lost. I don't want to start pulling all the fuses to check.

Can someone please decode the fuse panel cover and tell me which fuse to check?

Thanks to this forum I've solved two issues without having to go to mechanic. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Check 2 fuses, # 13 and # 40.

Fuse # 13 is a 10 amp fuse. It is in the middle column, 2nd from the bottom. The fuse has the label of "METER".

Fuse # 40 is a 7.5 amp fuse. It is in the right hand column, topmost fuse. The fuse has the label of "ELEC PARTS".

Yes,I just looked at nine. Exactly the same. Does anyone know which fuse controls the lights on/keys in ignition chime? Mine stopped working. Came home from a long drive and left my lights on all night long. Had to recharge my battery and replace an amp that blew when I got a jumpstart. Thanks ahead of time! Happy 4th weekend Maximites! 🗽

That would be fuse # 40, which is the 7.5 amp fuse in the top right corner of the photo, but that same fuse powers 14 different things, among them the power antenna and the clock. So if the clock & antenna work,it ain't the fuse.

If you leave the keys in the ignition switch (engine off) and open the drivers door, does the chime sound?
Does the dome light come on when you open the driver's door?
