Man....Snapped D2 camber adjusting bolt!!!!

Got a little excited and tightened one of the bolts a little more than it liked.... and snap.... down to 3.

2 questions....

1) How safe is it to be driving on just 3 of the bolts holding the camber plate (been checking every few hours to make sure there is no movement)

2) Where can I find another one of these bolts?

Hymm, contacting D2 is a bish. I would try to find a substitute bolt.

I don't think it should move too much under normal driving, but try and get that replaced as soon as you can.

if you havent already, use an easy out to get the broken stud out of there.

then, take out one of the other 3 bolts and go to a hardware store and find another one.

One thing that should be in every one's toolkit is a proper torque wrench.
It's like when I watch Unique Whips and those guys put on the expensive wheels, then use an air wrench. YIKES!!!

but if you also know, the d2 camber bolt is a allen key nut. I dunno how you would use a torque wrench with that. I think they have adapters, but i usually don't for allen keys.

If you know what your doing it isn't a problem. If you don't scratch them, and tourque them after no problem. It is the people that have no clue using an air wrench that you have to worry about.

Man just get that bolt out and take the other to home depot, not a big deal at all riding around with 3 for a while.

I'm sure there are plenty of extra camber plate bolts in the warehouse...
I'll check tonight if I can.

And BTW. Urban Import IS D2 of USA.
There is the main D2 based overseas somewhere.
But for ALL US customers, Urban Import is D2.

While you're at it, Mike, can you check and see if you have extra allen bolts that go in the actual spindle? Those black allen bolts. One of mine, after driving around for maybe 100 miles, must have just flown of? Thanks.

Anyone else need some?? I've got plenty!

TJ_Max: We're waiting on D2 to send us some allen bolts... PM me so I have a record of it, and i'll get in touch with you when some come in.

Thanks,

Mike

Sounds like these things are similar to the Progress/Stillen setup on mine. My perches and plates use 2 different sized allen key bolts. I just picked up a couple extra's of each at the local hardware store after I lost my first.
