He's just making a vid to show off the sound of his exhaust not trying to hit 12's . Why is everyon worry about how he shifts in this video?

thought maybe cattman had different headers to just replace the stock ones but since i can't find any, i guess there are no such things. bummer.

Just ungrateful I guess....

Many people ask for these kinds of threads, someone is nice enough to take the time and do it, and you get some people complaining....

i dont know, maybe its just my driving style, but when im driving just to floor it and not really get a good time or anything, i just shift slower, and once im all the way off the clutch, then i get that gas pedal back to the floor, but then again thats just the way i do it, im not saying my way is better...

no offense taken dude ! maxima.org has always been a tough forum/crowd, after watching the video again listening to the shifts i see what you guys are saying, lol..! did get a kick out of making the video though hitting some backroads and having people pass by wondering what the heck i was doing.

i have always came from the underdog perspective owning a maxima. always trying to help out with our 4th gens to see how we all can be better as 4th gen owners. if thats exhaust note or performance always willing to do what i can to help out.

as for driving, im sure there are a zillion people out there that would blow me away, im just the average dude that is pretty over the top about our 4th gens.

Or how about a few of these upset wins ?

http://www.ceasarschariot.net/championdragway.wmv

---

again, its just been about trying to put a spanking on someone else in a 4th gen maxima for me, and give our cars some respect. Am i the best driver on the org, NO ! Is my maxima fast ? No Could someone drive my car better than me ? Sure I bet there are plenty of people out there that could show me plenty. (minus h2kfrosty, lol !)

But on the flip side I am having fun, doing what I can with what I have. And the whole point really is to show that the 4th gen can be fun and cool to own.

I definitely think you need to know how to drive when getting out there in a FWD, all motor car like a maxima. The car needs plenty of adjustments on any given day considering track/road conditions. The car is nothing like an AWD twin turbo WRX Sti which will do it all for you.

And again I dont take offense to anyone in the maxima brotherhood ! Theres always room for improvement. I think for me the 3rd to 4th shift is the most difficult to decide on when to shift.

here is a video of the chariot out at the a track i say is to tough to tame. Elevation correction factor is .18, I say its more like .2 and 2 mph, but if you ever needed to put a good run together its here. walking away with a 14.0 wasnt that bad, but i still wonder if that 3-4 shift is right ?

While I agree that he was putting a hurting on his clutch, when Ceasar wants to shift quickly, you will know it. Into 13s without slicks even, VQ30 Max with only Exhaust engine mods and full interior... you've gotta give that respect.

Ceasar, why are you getting rid of the rear bumper?

well i dont like the darn thing really, back when i bought it, the photos on the internet looked good but when i got it installed it just looked real big and not very sporty. the side angle is pretty cool its just the rear end angle from behind that just doesnt look right. not really sure what to do about it either unless i went with stock rear again with the stillen pieces ?

Actually, I agree there, the bumper makes your car pretty bulbous in the rear and I never really felt the cutout. You'd definitely have to add something to the stock rear bumper in order to keep the aggressive look the car has now, though.

Also, what size tires are you running?

Yes, that turnaround makes it equal-length. It still flows very well. At ~$900 it is still a bit of a stretch of the wallet though.

That is not accurate. Ask him how much he's done to the car to lose weight. And his DR's are pretty much slicks. Take a look at the pics of them in the 1/4 mile forum. Don't get me wrong I'm not taking anything away from him but people will start thinking they can run 13's with full interior in and subs in the back etc as long as they have Cattman exhaust and an intake...

Nice vid Ceasar! You know I really should do one up like that too once I get my car back on the road. As you know I have full Cattman exhaust also but I'm curious with the different intake (ie the 00VI etc) how it sounds from the outside. I've never gotten a chance to listen to my own car.. I'm always driving. lol.

dandy one small correction, 13.9 was with toyo proxes t1-r, never been able to prove the drag radials are helping because of the elevation i have been racing at with them. the 13.9 was with the toyos and a 2.15 60 foot, i got a 1.97 60 foot with the dr's but only laned a 14.0 so to bad so sad for me until the track opens back up with the low elevation which is around 33o feet above sea level over here.

o dandy another thing i would like to hear your setup with the test pipe versus my stock cat. im getting drounded out racing all the 4 bangers ! i have a hunch it would sound even better with the tp. dandy is also right about the header comment my car was faster with warpspeed ypipe than with the headers but it sounded like a freaking truck, let me find a run with the old setup for a good laugh

Only engine mods are exhaust I said... intake/midpipe really do/does nothing.

AFAIK he also has clutch, flywheel, 16" SSR comps and a few other things. Doesn't he have full interior? I dunno, but still...

So, not DRs, but I really quoted because I'm running them as well and love them. Are you running 245/45-16 as well ceasar?

yeah, lets see no aftermarket flywheel and im racing on DR's now but racing on a track with much higher elevation around a.18-.2 correction factor so no times worth a darn. im running a 225/50/16 with the hoosiers at about 18 lbs a tire new. not sure i will be able to try and break 13.9 with USIM, will be doing some changes soon. dandy via our conversation im just going to go OOVI for a season and then maybe we can both go vq35de when we are ready to see what kinda results we get.

Ok my bad somehow I remembered your 13.97 being on the DR's. But if you ran a 1.97 60' on them you definitely ran faster on them than on the Toyos, you just don't have the numbers to prove it because of the elevation of the track.

Chris I would have loved to go VQ35 right away too but that's why I did the 00VI swap a year ago because I knew I couldn't do it just yet and wanted something to tide me over. It will still be a significant improvement for you. You'll see once I start hitting the track.

Morpheus, I might not have read correctly what you said before but an intake and midpipe do affect things, depending on what you do/which ones you use. And Ceasar did not have full interior running those times.. ask him if you wish.

Okay, they may affect things, but it's nothing you're going to see even a tenth in the quarter because of.

I was just assuming he had full interior though, guess I was wrong?
