I used headerwrap to alleviate the buzzing on my WSP y-pipe. I live where it does not snow much though. My car only encounters snow when I drive up to the local mountains.

Header wrap can trap moisture and cause the Y pipe to rust. How long has it been on? Have you checked it lately?

I have read all about it when before I put it on, so I know all of the pros and cons. I have taken it off a couple of times, and the pipe has no problems. I've had my y-pipe wrapped for a couple of years now, heck maybe even longer. The last time I checked it was a few months ago.

so is anyone sure of what the stock y-pipe is made out of? I'm deciding whether to buy aluminzed steel or Stainless Steel. The car has about 120k on it and i plan on driving it another 5 years.

For the price difference (generally only a $50 or so), you can't go wrong with spending the extra coin on stainless. Make sure the manufacturer is using quality stainless though, like 304L. IMO
