Car Got Hit

I was driving down one road with my friend (he was in another car) and he loses control and hits me in my rear bumper. I drive away and turn around and come back. He ****ing ran away. His car was near a pond, rear wheels a little wet. Now the cops ask me how some Lithuanians on coincidence hit eachother, and demands his name and etc. After a while I give in, tell them all the ****. BTW, my friend has no license, and has been arrested twice before for driving without license. So in the end my car needs new bumper and paint for the area that got damaged. I will be going to the police station tomorrow to set everything straight, and my friend has to come as well, or else he'll get lots of warrants and **** like that for his arrest. I needed a new bumper anyway, since it was all scratched up already and was almost in 2 pieces, now I just hope everything turns out okay, so that I'm not at all guilty, and can get my car fixed.

Pics of accident:

I'm sorry about what happened to your Max.. but what's with the police involvement? Did he just blatantly run away, making it seem like he wouldn't pay you or something?

Basically my friend has no license and etc. And he didn't want to face the cops because of that, and ran as soon as he got out of the car. There were a bunch of witnesses who saw him and his other friend run, before I even came back to accident. The cops found his 2 ID's in the car anyway, so I couldn't really say it wasn't him. My *** was also on the line, and I could've gotten arrested if I said some BS. I did do some BS in the beginning, but then fell short a few times, and had no choice. So basically my friend already had a warrant for his arrest because of his ID's. Plus, one ID showed different years of his birth. Now they have his address, phone number, and all these other things, and basically he won't be able to get anywhere. I talked to my friend like 20 times last night after I came home, and he's not sure if he wants come with me to the station to finish the report. Cop said he'll get a few tickets, and that's it (not sure about that). Anyway I got hit by stupid friend, and now my car is damaged. Hopefully he'll come to his senses and just accept the fact on what happened, and get those tickets. Only worse from there if he doesn't show up...

Sounds to me you threw your "buddy" under the bus. Should've told the cops that it was a hit and run. The damage on your car is minimal all you need is a new bumper cover and paint $500.oo.

That's exactly what I said, but since both of us were Lithuanian, he said that that's BS that you don't know them. I told them I don't know who it was, I was just driving and then my car got hit, that's it. Then cop said if I don't say what happens, then I get arrested for obstruction I think it was. So basically because both of us were Lithuanian, cop didn't want to believe I didn't know them, and that it was a hit and run. If they were American or something else, I could've gotten away, but since we're both Lithuaninan, we, or should I say, he, got screwed. Also my quarter is damaged a little, need to paint that as well, not just bumper. Will post outcome soon...

How did he get "screwed" for being Lithuanian? You said his ID was in the car anyway so they would have found him regardless. You 2 were just simply "driving" down the road huh.

Wow both are you are seriously dumb. First of all, why did you friend run in the first place? You could have gotten this problem resolved with out the cops, if he simply hit you, just pull over to the side of the road and discuss it, instead he made it seem like he just hit a cop car.

Who called the cops? What you should have done was pull over, park ur car and go get your friends car, call him and tell him to get his a$$ back there to move the car so it doesn't seem like a big accident.

You guys really fuked up !

The car was in a ditch, so it would be impossible to get out ourselves. Once I turned around he was gone, because he had no license and basically was scared of the cops. It wasn't just a regular "bump" he was skidding sideways at like 50mph and went into a ditch, so it's not like we can pull over to the side and discuss it. Plus there were like 5 other cars already there when I pulled in, which called the cops immediately. The thing is is that I told him to come back and just deal with it, but he chose to run, so I don't know, it was his mistake. His first mistake was to drive without a license. Now I have to pay for his dumbass mistake as well.

Damn you have some major problems with explaining things. English much?

Now I understand what happened.

1. You guys were racing down a street and bumped into eachother, resulting in him to skid out and go into a ditch.
2. Cars that were passing by, stopped and offered to help but when the driver fled, they called the cops.
3. Now you have a messed up bumper and your friend is in deep shiet cause you guys were being 17.
4. Being Lithuanian has nothing to do with this accident.

Got it.

Don't do that again.

1. Who said we were racing? I said my friend and I were driving down the road, he speeds by me, almost hitting me, swirves, loses control, and hits me and ends up in a ditch. He doesn't hit me and then lose control, if you misunderstood.

2. Good job!

3. How is being 17 a factor? At age 16 we can get our license.

4. Being Lithuanian DOES have a lot to do with the accident, since cops wouldn't be so strict if I was hit by someone else. Since "coincidently" I got hit by another LT, cops don't want to believe I didn't know my friend and etc. He says lots of LT's race and **** here and crash. I will tell you again, we were not racing! He was going like 10-15mph more than me and lost control like I said, and hit me in the bumper.

So basically this was all caused by my friend's driving. He lost control, hit me, crashed, fled the scene, cops threaten to arrest me if I don't say who he is and etc, I drive home, will go to police station today to finish the report.

I understand what you're saying I guess. There wasn't a real point in lying for him especially when he left his IDs in the car and the car most likely could have been traced to him/his family easily. Have you talked with your friend since then? It could have been worse I guess, YOU could have been the one in the ditch. Good luck with the repairs.
