anyone know the stock 97 automatic maxima SE time or the quarter mile time ? thanks

A Gtech Performance Meter will tell you Pretty sure it's 7.4 secs for the auto.

i never understood the whole 0-60 mph thing ? who came up with that in the car world anyways ? only accurate measurement i have ever came up with is 0-80 mph in 8.9 seconds (from a timeslip), but im not stock. i wonder what my 0-60 time would be ?

It probably has something to do with safely merging on to highways. As most posted speed limits are around 50-70 mph on highways. Some highway entrances are very short in which some people get scared and come to a complete stop.
