02 bung on greddy sp2(bypass 02 sensor)

The 02 sensor goes into my cat converter on my 95. there is a bung for it in the b pipe of the sp2. i plugged it with a bolt i bought from a store specifically for that.
i bought a test pipe with no 02 bung in it, and for some reason the 02 bung on the b pipe is too big for my 02 sensor. at least that was the case when i tried to plug it with an 02 sensor before i actually bought the bolt.
whats everyones suggestions on what i do wit hthe 02 sensor? i hate leaving crap hanging under my car and in the engine bay cause there is no spot for it.

Hmm wierd. Seems like you got a 97-99 system on your car, or one of those messed up 95-96 systems with the o2. I dont see why an o2 sensor wouldnt fit there, I got a 98 and my o2 fits perfect into the b-pipe. Try to put it in the hole again i really dont c why it wouldnt fit.

it was a 95/6 system it just has that stupid extra bung. and hangs real low at the b pipe.
now htat i thihnk of it, i used a spark plug not an 02 sensor, thats why it was too big. just bad memory, that 2 sensor should fit. hopefully theres not a reading difference that will trip a cel. the 02 sensor is brand new.
thanks

The 02 bung is too big, by a long shot. I don't know what to do. Why would the bung be too big

All Greddy b-pipes are the same 95-99, they rear section is different, 97 the outlet to the tip is 2" to 3" longer. An O2 sensor will fit there, and using a test pipe with no hole should be fine as long as you put it in the b-pipe on the Greddy. B-pipe can easlily be fixed with hose clamps, mine does not hang low after adjusting it.

I'm tellin you man, I tried screwing the 02 sensor into the bung. The bung is about twice the size if not more, in diameter. The threads don't even touch. Why would the bung be bigger than an 02 sensor?
Now that I think of it, the rear cat 02 sensor is small compared to the front ones in the b pipe. Maybe the 02 sensor size varies from 96 to 97.
So maybe ill order a newer 02 sensor and hopefully its doesn't make a difference to the ecu or anything.

you can have an exhaust shop take that bung out and put one in that fits your 02 or have a bung put in the test pipe

How would they swap bungs like that though. It seems easier to just get a newer 02 sensor as long as it doesn't mess with the ecu readings.
Also, how much would that cost.

Just put a O2 bung in the test pipe, much easier, you can drop off the test pipe, you would have to bring in your car for the b-pipe. Plug up the Greddy and problem solved and you don't have to mess with the b-pipe. That is strange because my 96 I30t the O2 sensor in the cat looks like it would fit but I didn't try, good info to know, thanks.

I got a bolt plugging the greddy bung but I thought itd be a good opportunity to use it and wouldn't have that dumb bolt stickin out
I just hope the new sensor doesn't throw off the ecu

I hope you didnt get an O2 sensor for a 97-99 hoping it would just plug right up. The 95-96 O2's are a 3 wire, while the 97-99's are 4 wire. I agree with Tim93I30t, Take the test pipe to an exhaust shop and have them weld on a new bung.

Yeah I just found out.
Well..I wonder if there is any sort of hollow double threaded thing that would thread into the bung and then the inside would be the proper size for my 95 02 sensor.

Once I get the thread sizes, does anyone know where I would be ale to find a fowler type thing that would screw into the bigger bung but inside it have a bung for the smaller one.
I really don't feel like having a bung welded on the new pipe. I want to use that greddy bung if I can. Do you think a shop could swap bungs and make it a smaller bung on the bpipe?

You can drop off the test pipe and the bung and have them do it in 15 min tops. Then you don't have to work under your car on the O2 in the b-pipe or have to take it off to drill and weld, just plug it up. Just to make it easier for yourself, taking the test pipe off is 10x easier.

I guess I'm not left with much of a choice. Where do you get bungs from?
