Anyone ever insulate the wheel liner?

To prevent road noise? Seems like that would do an appreciable amount of insulation if done right. Just a thought...seems like this car always suffered from road noise and as it gets older, the worse it gets

Tires are the #1 source of road noise.

You can insulate the car a bit, take the front wheel liners out and spray some rubberized undercoating onto the inner fender area. Re-undercoat the rear fender wells and undercarraige.

Again, a nice quiet touring or all season tire is your best bet in making your Max a quiet car again.

i was considering this, just so happens alot of the tires i like alot make a considerable amount of road noise. Im curious to see how much of a difference this could possibly make.

Doesnt Dynomat make something specifically for this? Not just regular dynomat, but stuff ment for the wheel wells and engine bay?

I did my entire underneath of my I30 when I took off the oem exhaust to put on my Greddy with rubberized spray on coating. I didn't do the wheel part because it is plactic. I coated it after grinding any rust and spraying a layer of rust preventer first and let dry. Now the entire unddercarriage is black, crossmember, rear beam, trailing arms, etc. looks 10X better than before. I really didn't notice any sound reduction really, just looks alot better. But the
I30 has more sound deadening than the maxima to begin with. If I was doing this for sound reduction I would get the spray on type from a car stereo shop, specifically for noise reduction. Might be a little more than the rubber coating but will work better in terms of sound reduction.
