tranny question

I have an automatic tranny and sometimes I downshift for engine braking, is this bad for the tranny or engine, if so how bad?

it's very bad depending how fast you are going. Because an automatic wasn't meant to be switched between gears. You are forcing to tranny to down shift when it's supposed to gradually shift down as you brake.

It is a good way to have to replace your tranny early. Don't do it
