I'm installing regular LED's not the ones that have too many in a bulb. So far I saved .047 hp

Like I said before all the little things add up. I have more stuff than LED's to save me gas.

 

Last laugh? I think you are so absolutely ridiculous, I'll be laughing at you months from now. There are so many variables that can alter your mpg, that the fact that you think your LED bulbs are saving you 5mpg is assanine. Alter your tire pressure by 1 psi and that changes things. Change the relative humidity outside and that changes things. It's good comic relief though, so for that, thanks.

BTW - regardless how much "less" money you spend on gas because of your LED's, its still more than I spend. I don't pay a cent for my gas, my company does

i think it's illegal.... i would definitely consider the white led ones. i think it looks nice and clean.

 

Where did you get the 5mpg figure from. That is not just from LED's. That number comes from all the things I did to the car so far. I still have plenty left. There are plenty of variables, true. You can laugh all you want but when you lose that job or get another one I'll have the last laugh.

 

What other things have you done to save gas?

 

aerodynamic underbody panels, pumped up tires, LED's, weight reduction, seafoam, auto-rx, NGK copper spark plugs(V-power), new cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and driving the speed limit on the freeway.

I spent less than a $100 to gain 5mpg. Not a bad deal.

If you go easy on the LED's there could be benefit, but going crazy with LED's will have the same power wasting as the regular bulbs.

you are officially a clown. I got one for you. I'll send you my dirty fuel filter I just replaced. If you put that in, then your car will run leaner, and save you an additional 1mpg. Sounds good huh? I'm done with this conversation.

For the record, I won't lose my job, I'm the boss. And if the **** ever hits the fan, my motorcycle gets 40 mpg.

I get better mpg on the freeway than your motorcycle. A dirty fuel filter will lower mpg. I'm out, this might get soon.

 

no way you can get almost 700 mpg if your on all hwy raods. But you did say you drive like a

wrong. how do you figure that? It would cause your engine to be starved for fuel, and it would therfore run lean.

 

My tank is not as big as the maxima. I can only fit 15.9 gallons. You still pay for gas, even though you are the boss, unless of course you steal the gas money from your employees.

 

First things first. I actually apologize for telling you a dirty fuel filter will give you better gas mileage. When you factor in how much harder the engine has to work because it has less power, and the fact that the computer will adjust anyway, you were right, I was wrong . . . a dirty fuel filter will compromise mpg's. That said, I still highly doubt you can get more than 40 mpg's on the highway. With a 6 cylinder? No way.

As far as the job . . . A few years ago, the owners of the company decided the managers were not going to get raises, because our pay scale was top heavy. However, my direct boss, who's on the board, in an effort to compensate me without actually giving me a "raise", gave me a company gas card, enabling me to fill up at the company pumps . . . so it's perfectly legit and legal. So technically, as gas prices increase, I get a raise week by week.
