Could be illegal in Cali., but in state they arent. The only type of lights that are illegal nationwide are any type of light with discoloration..Reason why they are illegal?Distraction.

In Cali, its a crap shoot...depends on where you are. These hyper-white bulbs have a blue coating on them and show thru a clear lense. If a cop sees that, chances are you will get cited. White light is not illegal, its the blue coating on the bulb that shows thru a clear lense making it appear like you have blue lights that make it illegal. But that never stops people usually.

Here's a link to the DMV Vehicle Codes Section 24953: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc24953.htm .

Same here. I have those in my clearence lamps and they look great. I have Silverstars in my turn signals and can't wait to change them out...they light up amber, but the blueish/purple when they're not looks dumb in my opinion.

I don't believe white turn signals are legal here, but cops don't seem to hassle you too much. NookieMax has them, maybe he'll chime in.

Got a ticket for white turn signals. Cop said you can't have them cause the cop cars do. So basically saying mine can look like a cop car with white turn signals. Stupidest ticket I ever got. No other cop cares except for him. Also he got my sister for the same thing. How stupid is taht?

I have some polarg hyper white bulbs and i've never been sighted. I even had them on right in front of officers and they really don't care just don't go around acting like you have to be pulled over.

I think I've seen people just take their orange bulbs and paint the tips silver. You don't get the orange look when they're off but they still illuminate the reflector orange.

What part of chicago? I live right next to hoffman estates and one cop is a B!t<h there. I had mine on for about year and little bit and this is the first time. Also he threatened me on giving me a moving violation and I was like ... Stop talking out of your @$$. Yeah my area sucks. Becareful to those that have white turn signals.

I live in Columbia,SC and the only thing you cant have is red, blue, or certain kinda orange. We can have green, white,or purple lights. My ex girl friend has custom tail lights that are green and turn signals that are green!!
