For those with subframe connectors: Weld Quality question

Hi all:

For those of you that have SFCs, how would you all rate the quality of the welding you got done on them?

Do all of the mounting plates have nicely done seam welds, or did some of you end up with kind of shoddy globby welds?

The guy that did my car seemed to do a good job towards the front, but towards the back, the welding quality looks kinda lousy.

So have any of you had to redo the welding on your SFCs? If so, did any of you notice a handling or ride improvement afterwards?

Thanks

you'd be surprised how strong weld is.

Im sure they'll hold up fine for you. what you need to look for is porosity (for mig anyway.. did he mig or stick?), or tiny holes in the weld from lack of argon (or whatever he was using, im assuming argon) gas coverage, or maybe from a windy day.. thats really the only thing to worry about as far as weak welds, unless its undersized majorly compared to the front, which you're assuming are good welds..

this is all assuming the welds are a decent size. if not, other things come into play.

i highly dounbt if anyone redid welds on the joints they noticed any differnce, if the welds are bad, they'll break.. not bend

The welds are not the weakest link. Don't worry about them. But then again, depends on who's doing the welding, how good they are, and what they're usin.
