wheel spacers (for bbk) questions

i dont have enough clearance with my centerline wheels to clear the 300zx bbk. so i guess i'll get some wheel spacers. i think i need fairly thick ones though. i was looking at eibachs since thats a well known company and it had a long warranty.
anyway, my question is, does anyone have wheel spacers on their max? if so what do you think of them and if you could post some pics that'd be appreciated.
i think i need like 25mm ones since my wheels are 40 offset and i need a solid inch of clearance (hopefully not more) for those calipers.
any advice is appreciated as well, thanks!

Jeez, an inch? Thats pretty far. You'll definitely need longer lug studs. And your wheels will be out farther. Hope you have the clearance.

I have H&R 20MM spacers. My wheels are 17x7 with a 42MM offset. I couldn't be happier. They sit flush in the front, pretty damn close in the back. I am on JIC's and I rub some in dips in the front.

It makes the car look very aggressive, and with 20MM spacers I have PLENTY of room when I am ready to install my Cobra rotors and Q45 calipers. I do not have any pics as of yet. This coming week I will get some together.

where did you get them? what do you mean you "rub some in dips"
my wheels have like 40 mm offset i believe, i will remeasure to make sure im not gonna buy a spacer too big.
where'd you get those spacers and how mcuh did it cost you?
the eibach ones looked like they had holes for your existing studs and then thye had studs of their own which was kinda strange, but i dont think longer studs were needed since there were studs on the spacer.
do you have some on the back as well?
thanks!

www.optauto.com has the cheapest prices on H&R. H&R's come with longer studs and have several holes in the spacer for you to slide the spacer over the studs.

20MM spacer will be perfect for your offset.

I have 20MM spacers all around. And when I say I rub. The front tires sit flush with the fender and in some dips the tires hit the fenders.

I used this for installation.

I want to put in Znoelli 15mm front and 25mm rear wheel spacers on my SMX but I'm a little hesitant.

Could spacers possibly put undue stress on the axles / shocks / dampers by pushing the wheels out further than they were (meant?) to be OEM?

Cheers,
PHAT6

Also, do you have to have the same width spacers front and rear or can you off-set the rear to give it a more 'squat-muscle car' ***?

im interested i axle stress as well. i read that it actually helps with handling though, which seems awesome

thanks alot man. im gonna look at that right now. if the price is too high for all 4, i am gonna temporarily have them just in the front. for some reason i think the 20 mm will push my wheels out further than the wheel-well but maybe not. whatever it takes, i need that damn bbk clearance.

Who sells eibach spacers? I didn't think they made the for our cars.

If they do the reason they are probably $40 is because they don't include longer studs. H&Rs come with the spacer and the longer studs already.

edit:
http://www.drivewire.com/Performance...eelspacer.html

Quick search I found these. They're no where near $40 though. What site has them for $40?

Also if the spacers do put more stress on the axles its probably minimal. You will have a lot more stress on the axles being lowered, than running spacers I am sure. Can not beat the aggressive look it gives, and the car is more stable, planted in the corners.

damn i donno, i could have been looking at the wrong thing, i cant seem to get to the application guide on eibachs crappy website.
i dont want to chince(sp?) out on something important like this so i'll probably shell out the 100 bucks, i was just trying to piece together this bbk in a way that would fit my budget smoothly. i guess it'll be awhile before i get the whole dang thing.

Heh. I hear ya on the BBK. I am working on mine as well and that is why I also purchased the spacers. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all with H&Rs.

A friend of mine got spacers for rims on his Grand Prix GTP, and the rims were nice as hell but the wheels stuck out an inch or so and it made the car look horribly ridiculous.

So guys can you get away with different length spacers at the front and back to give the car wider rear wheel track than the front? What d'you reckon?

I dont know but my rear wheels feel too tucked in and look kinda stupid how they are. The front is not as bad I hope 20 mm won't push it out too far. Either way, can anyone tell me about those ebay auctions? I want some spacers now.

The used ones on eBay from the angle don't really look like 20MM. But its tough to tell from the angle.

I don't really know the quality of the eBay style ones, they should probably work just as well. I bought H&R because I knew that I was going to get high quality spacers.

4dr do you think you could show me some pictures of your wheels with the spacers?
my back wheels are tucked into the fender more than the front and i think 20 mm would level them out but i think 20 mm might push the fronts out too far. i dont know if i can go any lower than 20mm with a spacer though it looked like i needed an inch of clearance but i just cant tell without having it set up and what not.
i am lowered on ksports and i kinda want to lower a little more but now im worrying about the wheels bottoming out on the fenders i mean sometimes i hit bumpy roads and waht not..

ok...i have the H&R wheels spacers....20mm ones...i needed them to clear my 300zx BBK....however after i put them on u had rubbing issues with my fenders under auto-x conditions...so i had a local machine shop mill them down 4.5mm now now rubbing issues and enough clearence for the brakes....i highly recommend the H&Rs...as far as stress on the front end parts...its no difference than changing the offset of wheels

thanks man. i dont know where to get them milled but i guess i can figure that out later, hopefully i dont need all 20 mm to clear the brakes (i shouldnt) then i can get it milled down and hopefully not have to roll my fenders or anything like that. hopefully milling doesnt cost too much either.
as soon as i can sell these headlights i can buy some spacers

I have H&R 20MM spacers all the way around. I tried to get shots that showed how far they push my 17x7 42MM offset rims out. Hope this helps ya Chillin.

Oh and just a teaser shot of the future setup.
