i have 17s but not not maxima wheels...currently i am running 16.5mm spacers with my 17s to clear the brakes...also 300zx 16" will clear with 15mm spacers

The brackets are only need to relocate the caliper outward to meet the larger rotor setups such as the 04 maxima rotor or the Cobra rotor.
You will need to have the 300z rotors milled own at least 4mm. If not, the rotor will touch the inside of the caliper.
This is the rotor touching the caliper without the milling
You will also need to grind down the edge of the contol arm or the wider rotor will rub and the contol arm will cut a groove into the rotor.
Grinded contol arm
You also have to cut the heat shields off, they will also rub the wider rotor.
Sorry, but You OEM 16inch wheels will NOT clear the 300z calipers.

are there any good companies for hub centric spacers? How big should the spacer be about 1/2 inch?
Is there a big difference when using milled down rotors with 26mm calipers compared to the 30mm calipers and 04 rotors? What about compared to stock brakes?

The "26mm Aluminum" calipers were used ONLY on 1990 non-turbos. They used a 280mm x 26mm rotor.
The "30mm Aluminum" calipers were used on 1990 Twin-turbos and ALL 1991-1992.5 300ZX's (both turbo and non-turbo alike). They used a 280mm x 30mm rotor.
The "30mm Iron" calipers were used on ALL 1992.5-1996 300ZX's (both turbo and non-turbo alike). They also used the 280mm x 30mm rotor. \

I do not think you need to. The rorots in the BBK kits are larger in diameter and will clear the control arm. The heat sheilds have to come off though.
2004 Maxima Rotors are 12.6"
The Cobra rotors are 13"

The pedal feels the same as before, if you already had the SS lines. It does require a bit more pressure since there 4 piston calips but the fronts brake much better then the Maxima setup and you do not have to worry about the rears locking up before the fronts. The 300zx fronts will lock up much quicker then the Maxima fronts ever would have.

on stock 4th gen maxima wheels ur are prolly right...but 17" maxima wheels from later yrs might fit safely with spacers.....for winter just pick up 2 300zx wheels and run 15mm spacers thats what i am doing...and u can run whatever u want in the rear.....who cares if u have 2 differnent wheels front to back...ITS WINTER

Yes, the rotors are for a 90 300z. The milling didnt touch the holes.
I dont know the distance between the holes and the outer edge, I didnt measure it.

i can honestly say that after doing the complete 300zx barke swap, i am finally satisfied with my brakes, and they complement the performance upgrades.
and with the complete 300zx swap there is no nosedive effect that all you guys with 300zx fronts have. the master cylinder helps too.

Im still confused on how you made it work since the Z uses a drum e-brake assembly.
Isnt the Z the parking brake set up in the hub of the rear disk on the 300zx?
I would think it would require a bit more then just a relocation bracket and some washers to work.

Hey Jeff I remember i promised you pictures in another thread, i always keep my promises. Here's the pics.
The front uses aluminum 300zx (30mm gap) TT Calipers, 300zx rotors (milled 2-4mm diameter), Speedbleeders (SB1010, same as Maxima) and Hawk HPS Pads
I painted the Calipers with Red paint then several layers of clearcoat, to make cleaning them a snap.

For the rear conversion I went with Matt's kit:

He did a great job designing the kit and deserves all the credit,
I did the installation (minor grinding, and some washers to make it sit right)
here's the rear installed 300zx calipers, 300zx rear rotors and brackets to move the caliper out. (you will need to play around with washers to make the caliper allign perfectly with the rotor (depth) and you'll need to grind down the caliper, or the rear spindle a little to make it fit the brackets)
Here's the rear with the Z32 rim fills up real nice. (now you see why there's no nosedive with that huge rotor in the back) I didn't wash my car

Here's the pictures of the 300zx master cylinder, I don't know anybody else who has one installed, I think I'm the first. strut bar's in the way a little.
