For the true BBK kit, you need to use the 30mm calipers.
The "30mm Aluminum" calipers were used on 1990 Twin-turbos and ALL 1991-1992.5 300ZX's (both turbo and non-turbo alike). They used a 280mm x 30mm rotor
Have you made sure that your wheels are going to clear? Thats a common issue when doing the BBK.

Yes, his kit is based around the 30mm calipers. I have the 26mm and he told me he didnt think they would work since he designed his kit to use the 30mm calipers.

Im sort of in the same situation i want to upgrade my breaks. I was thinking of getting one of the BBK sets the Frankencar.com sells that uses the 13" x 1.25" rotor (i believe this is bigger than the 300zx one) together with the wildwood 4-piston calliper. My problem isnt wheel clearance, i plan on gettin a set of G35 coupe wheels, the problem is come winter i dont want to be driving around in the ice with Z or W rated tires on and i dont want to buy another set of wheels to put put all seasons on to use in the winter just so it clears my BBK. Should i just go with the Brembo 2-piston caliper/slotted rotor upgrade so i can keep my factory wheels for the winter or is there no comparison when it comes to the BBK's?

I dont think the OEM wheels will clear any type of BBK setup.
Just curious, why go with the Wilwood setup when you can do the Blehmco or Cobra setup for cheaper?
The Z32 calipers are 4 piston as well.

Im using the 26mm aluminum calipers with the Z32 rotors. The rotors had to be milled down a bit. Overall the rotor is not larger then the Maxima rotor, its actually a tad bit smaller since they had to be milled down but they are much thicker.
Its been doing fine, the stopping power is better since Im using the Z32 calipers but its not as great as a true BBK.

Yes they wont ride well in the summer. Use the tires its coming with for the summer. Then when winter comes switch out the summer tires for winter ones. And yes i do know how simple it is to switch them out, i work at a dealership and they only charge about $40.00 to switch out tires for you...

Uh, the Blehmco kit uses Z32 calipers, so you use Z32 brake pads.

Yup, I lot of members were purchasing 04 rotors from the G/B and then just buying the relocation brackets and ss lines from Blehmco.

Thats awsome. Then after i get the wheels its on to the Z32 rotors with some RTP slotted rotors. Man im getting excited.
Ive got a couple more questions if you can help me or point me in the right dirrection. Whats the advantages of slotted vs dimpeled vs cross drilled and all the combinations of any of them together? Are they the same in stopping power? Whats this I hear about cross drilled rotors cracking? Thanks for the help.

For everyday driving, there are no real gains from either of the options listed.
In autocrossing where braking is real intense, drilled/ slotted rotors help disapate heat.
For everday driving, its just for looks.
FYI, if you simply do the 300zx swap, you will ned to have therotors milled down about 4mm and you will need conversin brake lines, and will also need to grind down th edge ofthe control arm to keep the rotor from rubbing it since they are quite thicker then the maxima rotors.

Nope, that is why you use the relocation bracket. It relocates the caliper outward to meet the rotor.
When doing the 300z swap, the caliper mounts in the OEM positon so the rotor needs to be milled down a bit or it will rub the inside of the caliper.

why not go with the Cobra rotors?
anyways...good luck on your new bbk kit you are thinking about getting. these are totally worth it!
just make sure you have everything you need before the install and that you know exactly what to do. i had a few problems here and there but eventually finished it all.

yeah just dont forget about your wheel clearing.
i thought mine would but now i gotta shell out an extra hundred bucks for wheel spacers (not counting another hundred for the rear)
bbk's get expensive, but at least you can kinda piece them together over time.
i think im just gonna go with the blank faced rotors since they are so much cheaper and probably work well enough for me.

It all depends on where you get them, there a bit bigger so i would imagine they would cost a bit more but you should be able to get them in the zinc coating.
Also, if you go with the Cobra rotors you have to get the hubcentric rings for them as well.

It will not affect them. The rings fill the space between the rotor and hub.

Does anyone here have the mattblehm bbk, w/02 maxima 17's? I have 18's during the spring/summer/fall but come winter i put on my 02 maxima se wheels. I wanted to find out now if im gonna have any probelms fitting those wheels on with the BBK. Thanks!
