Broken shift linkage?

Broken shift linkage?
Just an irritating problem Ive had for a couple days off and on now, just wanted to see if anyone else ever encountered it.
I have a b&m sts, and I am very rough on it. I was racing a friends s13 a few days ago and slap shifted 1-2 and also 2-3. After the race I noticed that when I pulled it out of third it made a "clunk" sound. It repeated that sound everytime I switched gears, and it seemed eager to get to neutral- now the sound wasn't coming from the transmission, but from the center of the car near the ypipe. It dosen't pop out of gear, dosen't grind, no whining- the transmission is in good shape. I tried to look underneath the car but with the exhaust system + the ride height I couldn't really inspect is right.
Anyone? Thanks.

I agree get underneath and check all the linkage. If nothing. . . must be in the tranny.
Yea cause its easier to drive everywhere in 1st gear

Soon as it stops pouring I'll go take a look, hope its not the tranny- lol. But whats another month on this new setup, I don't even have a turbo anymore.
