ALL of my friends tinted their whole rear lights. IT LOOKS SICK! They all have it tinted completely black. Personally, I like it tinted half way. I'll take some pictures tomorrow when I see those maximas

Why don't you call the NJ DMV to see if it's legal?

I would love to smoke my tails using VHT but I have a few questions to those of you who have done it. (Yes i'm a noob on this subject) 1. Is it possible to smoke your tails without taking them off or can I leave them on? 2. Should VHT be covered by a clear coat/ enamyl to gaurantee a good look? Thanks

i had a black 96 and i used some spray tint i got at my local hobby shop, it was like $4 for a little can; i got two and you just spray a few even coats on your tails and voil-la! youre done. and no cops bugging you either. just remember not to spray them too dark or they might hastle you but mine were flush against my black paint in the day time.

My max had smoked tails when I bought it and I hated it but in my case whoever did it must have forgotten to clear them because the black was very dull. I thought it looked ricy. I now have stock tails I got off the fleabay. I think the contrast of the tails looks nice on black. Red & clears look good though.

In my experience, the spray looked good in the beginning, but faded terrible after sometime. The spray doesn't last and made the car look trashy; I ended up buying replacement tail lights to replace them.

Alright thanks for the tips. I just hope I can leave my tails in and do a good tape job around them.. Its seems like kind of a pain to take them out just to smoke them. I've also heard of fading but I think that only occurs when your VHT isn't covered by a vinyl coat. At least I hope that's it.
