Hey guys,
I want to get a good set of springs for my car to get that lowered stance. Can someone give me the rundown of the springs

Names of the springs:
Intrax
Sprint
E??????

Can someone give me how much each spring lowers your car?

best price of the springs? and where you get them from?
how much do you pay for installation of the springs?

Thanks so much,
steve

I have the H&R Springs that lowered my car 1.5" all around. The ride is almost factory and is not as stiff as the Eibach's. I paid about 200 for them shipped last summer.

RE: Sport Springs...

I did my fair bit of research and found that Sprints were the springs for me. They offer the largest drop of any springs - 2" front and back. They are the same difference as Eibachs, but this is still much firmer than H&Rs. Personally, I like the bumpy ride for the feel for road. I got them for $141 shipped (no typos ) from www.ImpactParts.com . They are considerably cheaper than their competitors because they are made in America. Overall, they have a nice drop, a good price tag, and a fairly harsh ride (not as harsh as coil-overs). Now for your other questions:
H&R: 1.5" rear, 1.3" front
Eibach: 1.4" rear, 1.3" front
Sprint: 2.0" rear, 2.0" front
Progress: 1.7" rear, 1.7" front
These are the leading makers of springs for the Maxima. For coilovers they are Weapon-R and Ground Control, both offering a drop adjustable from 1"-4" complete with very harsh ride . Unforunately, getting the springs installed will cost you from $200-$300, so it is suggested you install them yourself (unless you have mechanic friends).
That shoulds answer all your questions, however if you form more feel free to PM, IM, or eMail me.

springs

i have the sprint springs they give you the best overal drop in my opinion at 2" .the rear of the car will sit a little higher in the back though.as for for the ride its stiff but i like it they cost me about 160$ you can get them cheaper if you shop around.as for the eibach i hear the they are good springs but thing i dont like is that they dont lower the ride much at 1.3/1.4 drop something like that these will run you about 200 or so.intrax is about a 1.75 drop i dont know the price of these not sure.most people on this site like the h&r springs because they are soft and supposed to give the closest to stock ride but i dont like the drop not low enough for me same as eibach drop these will also run you around 200 or so.as for installation its not hard at all you can do it yourself like i did or you can have a shop do it couldnt be more than 100 or so for just changing the springs.you should just change both shock and springs all one time to save you money in the long run, meaning paying for the install again...hope this helps

Re: springs

Is it required to change your shocks when u change your springs. If you get new springs and you dont change your shocks, being that the new springs would lower your car, would that decrease the lifespan of your shocks, sorry i am not too familair with this stuff.

i really want a lowered stance, not so great and i def dont want it to be harsh.. Is it alright just to get springs and be fine???

Re: Re: springs

it is required that you change your shocks they can only handle the after market springs for a short time.however there are people here that went with h&R Springs with stock shocks and it was ok for a while but you will eventually have too change them anyway this is why you should just do it all in one shot.

I have INTRAX springs, and would highly recommend that you get them or Sprint springs. They offer the maxima the lowest drop, personally the Eibachs, and H&Rs are way to close to stock, they do not look good to me ( the drop of course. But i know you will be satisfied with either of the two i suggested. I would highly recommend that you install a brand new set of shocks/struts. I didnt do that and now i have to replace my struts/shocks. Its one job so don't pay twice, and get the springs and struts/shocks put in all at one time.

I'm a complete noob on this subject, but I was wondering, if it's really required you change your shocks, how much would new shocks cost? Also, how much would installation cost for shocks and springs? Thanks

Its not required but HIGHLY recommended. Your stock shocks are not going to handle the new springs for long. If you don't change them with the springs then you're going to end up changing them shortly after. Do a google search for diff. struts I guarantee you will find something. As for install it all depends on your local shops or DIY= free.

(cody McKown) there is a search feature on the user control bar at the top of your page.
It goes something like this:
Usercp iTrader FAQ Memberlist Timeslips Calendar New Posts SEARCH quicklinks logout

Please try to use the search function before asking a question that has been asked and answered close to 10,000+ times on this forum.

Thanks.... Not trying to be a azhole or anything but it becomes rather frustrating when viewing threads that are from 7+ years ago.
