the car is acting up on the idle lately. feels like a misfire but only on the idle.

Any response is appreciated.

so,what is the most common failure with this code, coil or something else?
Is there anyway to check the coil?
If this is the coil failure then wouldnt it misfire constantly? Because it runs fine when not idling.

Thanks

OK are you sitting down?
P0306 #6 misfire

Possible causes (I don't know if these are listed in order of likelehood)

Improper spark plug
Insufficient compression
Incorrect fuel pressure
EGR valve
Injector circuit open or shorted
injector
Intake air leak
ignition secondary circuit is open or shorted
Lack of fuel
Magnetized signal plate (flywheel)???

Quite a list isn't it
You can check the coil with a multimeter
I'll give you the specifics later if you want them.

You own a 99. Buy-install 6 new coil packs and you're done.

I think I found the problem

Thanks for the responses, great help.

Found an air leak today at the intake manifold gasket right at cylinder #6. So, i guess that the problem. I'll replace the gasket and possibly the knock sensor since I'll be right there and then we'll go from there.

Thanks for the quick replies, always appreciated!!1
