firestone lftm alignment??

anyone get this plan from them, is it a good or bad experience, i had a chance to look at thier website and it appear legit that they will actually do ur alignment as many times as u want it and i guess it includes tire rotation as well, has anyone got this plan and use it often. My only real concern is im doing an s-tech drop with illumnas if i ever figure out to install this camber bolt for the fronts ill out em in with the install this sat, but will firestone adjust that bolt to get the alignment in spec im thinkn that bolt help adjust camber correct?

i dont know anything about alignment at firestone or aligment in general, like camber, toe, etc.. what do they actually adjust, bc i'm not going to install the bolts if they won't adjsut more than what they would do to a typical oem set up with out the camber bolts. Any experince with this plan would be helpful

Thanks
Tim

I have this.

In the 1st month or so I had it, I got my car aligned maybe 5 times from swapping full suspensions and doing axles on both sides.

I run S-Tech now and I do not notice camber wear. TOE will wear out even the newest of tires very quickly. (dont ask....)

Well i went and got it just last week and the guy assured me that i could come back to that particular Firestone any time for an alignment with no paperwork or anything since i was in their computer. he also said that i could go to any other Firestone for an alignment as long as i had the reciept with me. I read on here somewhere about someone who has gotten 12 alignments over the course of a couple of years using Firestone which is why i went there.

I have this. pretty good deal, you get alignment as many times as u want as long as you dont abuse it. My friends brotther with his integra on coilovers was getting allignment at least once a week everytime he played along with suspension, untill it pissed firestone so much that they cancelled his lifetime alignment and gave him 50% refund. But its a good deal, everytime I change my rims or feel like it, I get an alignment. However they wont do it if you have your front lip on. They cant get a precise measurement

That could've been me. I know I've done like 15+ between Just Tires, TNR, Suburban Tire, and Firestone over the years.

To be fair to Firestone (BFRC), I usually go back to the store that sold the contract. Any work outside factory specs I pay extra for (ie camber). And I try to throw that particular tech billable work whenever I can. I was up front with the store manager from the beginning and it's worked great and saved me tons.

would i need my setting past factory spec with this s-tech drop, what do they actually adjust to align the maxima, i was thinking about installing camber bolts because i'm affradi of eneven treadwear but u think they would adjsut this bolt to get the camber in spec or is that "any work outside factory specs i pay extra for" ? because the lifetime alignment is like 140 out here in tampa, i'm hearing people getting it for 120-130 in other states like ohio.

Toe screws up wear much more than bolts. If you're setting for -1deg or less camber that's within spec and they'll probably do the bolts included.

Check with your local firestone to make sure they will give it to you. Around here they wont give the lifetime alignments to lowered cars.

Its a good deal since its the life of the car. just make sure they really do the alignment. Some Technicians dont do them at all if your not looking. I think the price for its is like 129.99 or something now. Well thats the price for my zone.

i got mine 2 years ago and have gotten about 15 alignments just for kicks. about 4 of the times were legitimate bc i skidded on ice and hit curbs. def recommend, it will pay for itself after your 3rd alignment.

I've got ilumnas and s-techs. I'm from the eastlake, (east suburbs) and yes roads in ohio reaaaaly suck. just bent my second set of rims some potholes are impossible to dodge since they are all over the F***ing road!

I've had mine for 4 years, and use it often. I'm lowered with 19s and a Stillen kit. I've had no problems and have been to different firestones even in different cities. It's a very good plan. I always keep my receipt with me in my glove box. I remember one store needed proof that I had the plan. After, showing them the receipt, it was done for free.

hmm

for those wondering...

the maxima...4th gen for sure.....has no adjustability except for Toe when ur doing an alignment....to get some adjustability when it comes to camber u can get a camber adjustment kit...that being the bolt...but that only gives u a slight amount of adjustment...which May be enough to set ur camber back to OEM Spec...if thats what u want...otherwise ull need a new knuckle to replace a bent one...

and Dont abuse firestones lifetime alignment thing....theyre letting u take advantage of them.....but they dont expect u to abuse it....see if anyone else will give u any deal nowadays

LIFETIME ALIGNMENT..You are paying $120. Go back every week if so inclined, they are making plenty of money at Firestone.

it's not as great as everyone thinks. After your initial alignment, you'll be the last car they work on because it's at no cost. I brought my car in at 8 AM and was told it wouldn't be done until 5 PM. WTF! Their customer service sucks and really don't care about your car. I had the girl at customer service tell me they lost my specs sheet. When i told her to print me out another one, she rolled her eyes.

I have the lifetime warranty on all 3 of my vehicles, and plan on getting it on my slightly used 96 max after I put my rims on this summer. It is well worth the cost. Just don't abuse it. And in my experience some techs won't adjust camber (bolts), however you can usually find one who will do it.

thanks i'm going there tomm morning to get it done, it took em and my firends forever to install the s-techs and illumnas damn well worth it, almost like oem ride very responsive though and great wheel gap, but its needs an alignment pull to the left but i'm getting it tomm morning i'm gonna be the first one there so i hope they won't give me back my car at closing time.

I think that's the fault of individual stores. 8 BF aligns at 3 locations and I've only waited 2hrs+ once now. I do always make appts though. As far as the sheets, just ask for before and after printouts each visit and keep em with you every visit. It elimiates much hassle.

The guy i bought my car from said he had the lifetime alignment thing from firestone. Does anyone know if the plan transfers over to new owner? I would like to do this as i have ksports and would like to get the camber set straight before i screw up the tires.

But being in South Dakota it might be hard to find a intelligent tech at firestone that knows what they're doing with cambered and lowered cars....

Even if the lifetime alignent transferes over to you, camber adjustments will not be included in it, you have to pay more for that.

I used to have Firestone's lifetime alignment on my previous car. First couple times it was ok. Then they started to request me to leave the car for over 5 hours.... forget it.

For my Max, I got the alignment from Wheel Works. They have a 12 months/12,000 miles warranty, versus a lot of shops only offer 6 months/6,000 miles. So I did another alignment right before it expires.

i want to get this plan but i dont really trust mechanics. only cause i've worked in a shop and seen that people really dont care about the cars they are working on. i would not be surprised if they just stuck my car on their idiot machine and didnt do it exactly to spec.
so the question is, how do you know they are actually giving you what you paid for? are you allowed to stand in the shop and watch them?

READ THE FINE PRINT. I've got a Firestone Lifetime alignment from a vendor store here on military installation. It's not a franchise, but a factory owned store. Franchises don't have to honor the alignment. I get mine realigned about every 5-6 months and no complaints, but it's hard to find a store that's not a franchise.

Yes, I finally bought one when I put my Max back to stock springs. I've had 2 alignments so far each taking about 45 min. I had to replace some suspension parts which changed the first alignment. I'll be buying new tires soon so there's another alignment. I think it's only good if you are going to keep the car and drive tons of miles. I believe the lifetime alignment doesn't not transfer to the new owner. That's why they put your name on the lifetime document.
