'97 SE: Should I turbo, S/C or swap to a 3.5?

Well...based on one of the most recent posts, I should either A) buy an 05 or 06 motor or B) change the rear valve cover to avoid oil leakage...anyone else familiar with this problem/solution? If it's true, then good to know. Thanks, guys...all responses are greatly appreciated. I'd like to be as informed as possible before D-day arrives. Hey...is there anyone out there who's experienced with this kind of swap who'd like to assist in exchange for good ole fashioned green (someone with a few extra tools would be ideal)? I'd say I'm quite mechanically inclined, however, I've never attempted a repair of this magnitude. I could order all the "stuff" in advance so we could just dig in.

You're not going to have a decent turbo setup for $4000 unless you can do ALL the fabrication yourself. Not to mention the money you will need for fixing your car or buying a beater car because something WILL go wrong eventually.

Neal is right. We have spent about 2 days on fabricating a intercooler setup for my car. I have a hookup so the labor is nothing but if you add up labor cost plus materials it would easily come out to over $1000. I can't imagine the cost for doing the actual turbo pipiping. Cant use silicone couplers there

I'm doing the 3.5 swap. got the engine out of a rear ended murano for $305 and shipped from florida for $235. (305+235=540) just need to find a damn engine cover.
