Wierd Grind, Passenger Side Rear.Handbrake boot?

Im hearing a wierd grind coming from my passenger rear everytime the tire rotates. Sometimes i hear it, sometimes it's HORRIBLE and sometimes it's non-apparent. someone told me it might be the handbrake boot? anyone have any idea's or how much a handbrake boot would run me. im leaning towards that cuz my hand brake pretty much doesnt work

I have the same type of noise coming from the front passenger side wheel. I was told something else saying that the lower control arm bushing were gone.

hey, i have this too! in my case i can only hear it with the windows down. it kind of sounded like the rotor shield, but i bent it and i still have the noise. it's a metal on metal sound. someone told me it could be my pads or a warped rotor. i'm going to check into it this week. my ebrake also doesn't really do anything; i pulled up the ebrake while rolling at about 30mph, and the car took a few seconds to stop ( idk if this is normal ). if you find out anything, keep us posted.

Sounds like maybe the rear wheel bearing.

Yeah. every time the tire rotates; its kind of like a steady " shhh - shhh - shhhh ". and my handbrake is the same, car comes to a slow stop just like yours. jncoracer , one mechanic did tell me he suspected the bearing but wasn't sure, since the wheel still felt tight. i'm hoping that's not it

well i spoke with my mechanic tonight and he told me it's most likely the handbrake boot. i was told it might be pads , rotors, or the caliper...so i changed the pads rotors and that side caliper and i still ahve the noise...so it's most likely the handbrake boot...im gonna see where i can get one and get it isntalled and yea mine comes to a rolling stop as well..sucks..

lol negative...do you hear it ALL the time or sometimes it's LOUDER then LOUD and sometimes quiet. Here's what leads me to definetly believe it's the hanadbrake boot. next time you drive, try lifting your handbrake up enough while on a slow roll till you stop hearing the noise..you should barely feel as if the hb is stopping the car but shouldn't hear the noise AT ALL . when i do that i dont hear the noise. dont drive like that, simply do this just to guage.

thanks ill try that. my noise is harder to troubleshoot b/c it's not really loud, but i'm pretty sure it's there all the time. i can only hear it if i'm driving alongside a wall or other cars. that's a good suggestion though, i'm going to try that tomorrow and see if i still hear it with the brake up

alright i tried the ebrake thing today today but i still heard the noise, so it can't be my handbrake boot. i noticed i hear something like a hissing too from that side, like ' tss tss tsss tsss ' that seems to be suspension related - i only hear it when i'm rolling. i don't hear it at idle so i don't think it's my ypipe. anyone have any idea what these noises might be? a bearing as jncoracer said? Thx
