B&M Shifter Problem

A while ago I installed the shifter myself. The directions were fairly straight forward but I'm feel as though somethins wrong. Everything shifts perfectly but sometimes when I'm slammin' through the gears, I push down and the bushing at the base of the shifter sinks below the shifter mount and is a B*T*H to get it to come back up.

Not only that, I already lost the spring that keeps the shifter centered and had to replace it with some crap autozone spring (dont expect that to last)

Any solutions to my problems? Anythin is appreciated thanks peeps.

i dont think it has anythin to do with a loose bolt.. its the bushing itself that drops below the mount. The entire rod drops below and hits the heatshield.

anyone else have any ideas/solutions?

Have you looked to see if the bushing is in good shape?

You probably need to disassemble the heatshield, cat/Y-pipe connection and look under there as someone pushes on the shifter and see what the problem is. Cheaper than paying someone else.

If it is the bushing, I recommend the urethane bushing that Larrio is selling in the group deals section. With my B&M, now the shifts are much more defined, and it makes a positive clunk now as it shifts, very good product.
