Got Rear Ended Yesterday

On my way home from work and sitting in Sacramento commute traffic on 99. I was at a stand still and this beat up cadillac slams into me. I hit the Lexus SUV in front of me and the guy in the caddy takes off! He was caught and come to find out he doesnt have insurance and was drunk. Luckily I have uninsured motorist coverage. Looks like she will be totalled.

ouch rear quarter panel damage is pricey. insurance might have you total your car.

Sorry to hear that man. She's a beauty but looks like the damage is more than what the car is worth = TOTALLED.

A few weeks ago, I was looking for parking at a mall and a lady in a mustang backs up into me. Luckily it was just a tap with her plastic rear bumper into the passenger-side front fender of my max. There were no dents or marks whatsoever....I was very lucky.

A Damn shame, If it doenst get totaled, it will be one high bill to repair, rear quarter work and paint will be a pretty penny.

Luckily you have uninsured motorist, other wise this would be all out of pocket. Glad your ok.

ouch ouch..

that is gonna be expensive to fix. yeah, insurance co. may total that.

my max went through the same thing w/ the previous owner a few years back.

it costed her around 5k to fix everything professionaly and painted nicely. and thats also w/ minimal frame damage.

If the guy was drunk and uninsured, sue hus ***, you WILL win. It's a gay thing to do, but driving drunk is way worse. Buy a new maxima with the proceeds.

I seriously doubt he would get anything by suing... It would be nice if the guy met some unfortunate accident though

My 95 4dr Integra was recently rear ended also. Long story, but it just ticks me off when I hear about stupid drivers.

But yeah like everyone says, you're going to have to total it. The rear impact beam looks smashed and I'm sure the left side rail is all bent up. Not to mention you have front end damage as well. I wish the best for you and hope your story turns out with a happier ending than mine.

hey you could press charges and sue the guy for money to get it repaired if your attached to your car, that way you can keep your car and not have to get insurance involved in this (they'll probably raise your rates if you do). If you filed a police report and Po-po knows where he lives you can sue him for upto $7,000 in small claims court (no lawyers needed) to get it repaired, and since he was drunk and stuff, he'd Lose the moment he steps into court. that's what I did when I got rear ended by some f*cktard last december, if you can afford to be without the max for a couple of weeks, or can bare to ride like that I'd get an estimate at the stealership and sue him in small claims court for repair costs. Think about it
