I found out the hard way. I wanted to see if the light worked I was pretty sure it was gonna. I was cruising down interstate 294 S. and the engine just died. It was raining and i was stuck there for over and hour. Trucks were wipping past me really fast. The needle was BARELY below E.This is my own fault though regardless , LOL. I just though the org. would appreciate a story like this.

is there another way to check it? LOL!

I wouldn't. I was waiting for the low fuel warning light to come on before i filled up. It never lit up and the car died, but i was just BARELY under E. I thought i had enough gas.

Everyone i've ever heard of with a MAX, their low fuel warning light doesn't work, knowing this I fill up when it reaches the lower half of the last quarter of fuel, and never let it fall under the E line...or else things could get SH*TTY...

I guess you aren't the culprit, anyways don't let your fuel go below 1/4 tank, or you'll put your fuel pump at risk.

Ha, I had the same incident but I was trying to go up a hill ..My needle was no where near the E, and I had no gas in my car ...

In conclusion, my car wouldn't start nor do I let my car go under 1/4

Bad idea man, do you honestly need a light to tell you to get gas?

my brother used to let the tank go to E all the time and wait for the light when he had the max, not surprised if the fuel pump on my max will go at any moment.

I swear mine doesn't work either. I've only let it hit E once, and I really had no choice (lots of evenings working til after gas station was closed) and the light never came on. Luckily I filled up before it was all gone, but still...it would be nice to know the light atleast worked even if I never let it go much lower than 1/4 tank.

I let it hit the E before cause I didn't have money to get gas at that moment. My light was on but very dim. Heads up to those new members here.

if you knew you were going to try this, you should have filled up a gas container and brought it along, to avoid potentially getting stranded.

my light works but it seems it's like bugging...it's dims in and out but it works. As long as it works i'm happy. Plus i try not to let the tank fall under half (helps on the pockets instead of filling up 70 bucks all the time 30 seems to do it)

mine works on both of mine it comes on when i go up steep hills when im just above empty. just wondering if this is me but i think i have a magical fuel gauge it moves up and down a bit every time. ill have like 100km on a full tank and it will be at like 7/8 of a tank and then it will go back up where it should be right at full.
