Were 1996 and later years OBD2? Is the 1995 model obd1?
Can you use a this diagnostic tool for obd1 on an obd2 car? I have the blazt ecu interface cable specifically for nissans, and they say that it is compatible with the a32 maxima. From what I understand, all a32 maximas were obd2, but the 1995 was different. Do all years a32 maximas have a grey 14pin consult diagnostics port or the obd2 connector? Note that in this pic, the connector is not symmetrical, one end has a notch, the other is squared off I think the obd2 connector is symmetrical, anyone know for sure? Thanks!
This is asked all the time, we need this in the stickies (not that it would make any difference...). ALL A32's and on are OBD-II compliant, including every single '95 model Max. Mine is and was manufactured 02/95, and there are quite a few on here with earlier manufacturing dates that are OBD-II as well.

seriously? if he wants help in an "english" speaking forum, maybe he should learn the language? and we have a search function, alot of op don't seem to want to use it, just post multiple threads about same problems over and over. it can be frustrating if you don't know the right questions to ask.how do you know english is'nt his first language?
Man... some of you guys can be real tools sometimes. The guy is obviously making an effort to learning the language. And I seriously doubt he knows proper netiquette as it's called (ALL CAPS RUN ON SENTENCES NO OR IMPROPER PUNCTUATION ETC)
Cut the man some slack, jeez...

15 posts not needed anymore. Noobs can start threads with 1 post. Unless they changed it again...but for several months Noobs have been able to start threads w/o 15 posts.

If they can't that's it or they do not want to , there is not much anybody could do but give him some grammar and/or English lessons.
Sorry for the off topic
obd2 plug
This looks like it has been done to death but I have searched from top to bottom and can not find an obd2 connector on my 97 a32 cefiro maybe the Japanese domestic models didnt come with this? Is there an adapter for consult to obd2?
La connexion de OBDII esta en el lado pasajero en los modelos del ano 95.En 96 y arriba lo cambiaron en el lado del chofer. Pero todos lo modelos 95 y arriba son OBDII

Regarding non- English speakers posting to this forum.
Keep in mind that the default language in international commerce is often in English. Most information on the net is in English. English is taught in the European schools because English is an important language.
Many people can read English, more or less. Writing in a foreign language that your are not used to is a whole different matter. How many of us can write fluently in Spanish, French, German, or what ever language they use in former Yugoslavian territory? Not very many. Just for fun, why not join a foreign automobile website. Start reading the technical issues that are discussed here in that language. Next, post a question there. Be sure to use perfect sentence structure, technical terms, and be nice. All in lower case of course.
Our foreign readers deal in that world, all the time. They should be welcome.
At one time I had a Porsche 924. The website I joined was USA based. I received answers to my most pressing issues from a guy in Bulgaria. Sure, his English was not all correct. Since I do not know Bulgarian, his imperfect English worked for me.
