i dunno man i have a pioneer in my car with the ipod adapter. It cost me 99$ and took about 15 minutes to install.. i would go with someting like that, and if you have some money buy a new radio like a pioneer or kenwood or even alpine that has the ipod input. trust me youll get better sound and it will be hassle free. just my 2 cents

does anyone know how that mod works which requires you to attach RCA input into the Bose Aux input option? i want to do this to avoide buying a new deck as i find them to be more inviting to criminals then a stock deck, and i find my deck works just fine with my system. i have heard of problems with the sound/volume output, any input?

just buy a head unit with an auxilary input. then buy the cable that goes from the aux in on ur headunit to ur ipod. and make sure you get a monster cable. trust me, otherwise ur gonna get real ****ty quality audio comin outta ur speakers when u turn it up.
oh, if ur headunit that you have now does not have an auxilary in then ur not gonna be able to hook up something like an ipod or, like in my case, my s50.

If you're getting a new hu then you'll have any easier time getting an adapter and plugging the ipod to the aux spots. If you're keeping the bose then you can get a fm tuner adapter or solder wires to the Bose hu to run directly to the ipod and run off an Aux option.

FM tuners are garbage...
That's pretty much the same setup I have.

When my CD player broke I took the iPod route. The guys at Circuit City ran some Monster Cable into my stock Bose HU (I'm guessing into the auxillary output in there) and a little cord comes out that I plug into the top of my iPod.
The volume control is an issue (simply because the iPod has independent volume) so you have to adjust both. I found that leaving the iPod volume about 80% was sufficiently loud for most songs without blowing the speakers.
Other than that, it consistently sounds strong. I never lose my signal and the sound quality is good. The only thing I'd recommend is an iPod remote and screen to mount on the dash, because you might as well be text messaging someone when you're scrolling through playlists.

I was wondering if anyone has tried this on a 1997. I have a 1997 with stock Bose Unit and CD changer. The applications list shows 1998+. I have tried other sites also and they seem to indicate that nothing is available for 1997. I had thought all the Bose Head Units were the same for the 4th gens?
