Can a 99 Bose HU replace a 98 Bose HU

I asked this in the audio and electronics section, but got no response...

Can a 1999 Bose headunit replace a 1998 Bose headunit? I have a 98 Max with Bose and I want to replace it with a 99 HU. Is everything compatible, any issues? Thanks.

They're all interchangeable and will plug right in. I put a 99 hu in my 95 with 0 issues. my 99 hu has no problems with cd-err or anything annoying like that

inaccurate.. the CDCHANGER cables differ.. and if it was from i30 with infiniti link... the stupid phone thing in the pushout tray area...

but if no changer then ur fine.... and even if the original car has the infiniti link... the radio is still fine... for CD AM FM TAPE...

but maxima to maxima only if you have a oem cd changer it makes diff..

oh yeah, i think i do remember reading that at one point, about the cd changer cables. i forgot to mention it though beacause i don't have a changer and my 99 worked great.

well, I do have an oem cd changer (well, it's USA Spec). however, the whole reason i'm changing it out is because i bought the USA Spec NIS-PA11 iPod interface cable, which doesn't seem to work properly with my 98. the NIS-PA11 is only supposed to work with 99 and up. so should it work for the 99 HU in my 98 Max, or is there some other issue that's going to affect it?

you can also use a Bose HU from a pathfinder or 350Z as well.

I used to think that all 4th Gen Bose HUs were the same. I guess not. I looked up on Monstercable.com for a cable for headunit to Ipod, but it only shows 1998 and up. I also looked on other websites that show solutions for 1998+ but not for 1997. Anyone have any answers? I kind of searched around a bit. I just want something that allows my stock head unit to control the Ipod but DO NOT want to use FM modulator crap. I can do the AUX modification if necessary.
