drivebelt adjuster does not loosen
drivebelt adjuster does not loosen
im trying to replace my two belts on my 96 but the adjuster doesnt want to loosen. Which way am i supposed to be turning left or right? I do both and nothing seems to be happening. what gives? If i turn left it gets to a point where i can no longer turn. if i turn to the right it gets difficult to turn so i stop cuz i dont want to damage anything. what do i do?
JNCoRacer could you paraphrase what you just said my english is not the greatest thing in the world.
All i tried to do was turn the "adjuster" nothing more nothing less. I touched no pullies or anything just the "adjuster".
to my understanding all i have to do is turn the "adjuster" then the belts losen, i then replace the belts then tighten again the "adjuster", the end. ¿am i wrong?

I turn the 14mm bolts all the way to the left but nothing happens. Am i supposed to do something after turning the 14mm bolt to the left. To my understanding the belts should loosen up and i should be able to replace then from there. I think i am missing a step or something. correct me if im wrong
okay i understand. Loosen (not remove) the 14mm NUT of the pulley from underneath the car. next loosen (not remove) the adjuster from the engine bay. I understand.
Just one last question. when you say "pulley" you are referring to the pulling that is part of the "adjuster" correct? the one that is smooth and has no grooves on it, correct?
