how is it done. ?
and how should i go about cleaning it

take the 3 bolts out and clean it with throttle body cleaner. take the cap on the bottem inside of it off i think its held on by few screws its been a while since i did mine. i just used a toothbrush and some cleaner.

And make sure you put the gasket back on. Yep un-plug it and remove the 3 12mm bolts securing it to the intake. Should be 3 phillips head screws holding on the brass cup. Clean and put back together.

ya be carful to make sure the gasket is in all the way i thought it was the first tim i did it and it wasnt and my car ran like poo.

What gasket are you guys talking about? I didn't see any gasket when I cleaned mine...

Mine didn't have one, but I bought a used one and it did. There's sometimes a paper gasket there like the one on the Throttle body.

My IACV gasket was metal. So was the one on my 96 and my wife's 98.

There is a gasket there,it's a thin paper with metal kind of gasket,real thin,if you don't see it,maybe cause it stick to neither the plenum side or the IACV itself.
