You guys seen these?

Sounds funny to me, I am curious if anyone has had any real experience with them.

$350NZD btw is about $230USD.

MICRO-COMPRESSOR AIR INTAKE BOOSTER

This product saves fuel by a second air intake system that taps into the inlet manifold supplying more air when the butterfly is closed. It is an efficient, fully adjustable, non-electronic component. Its effects can be felt immediately after install.
Benefits include: fuel savings (5-10% more mileage), increased torque, horsepower (low gears), decreased emissions for all petrol cars. Requires no modifications on car settings, meaning hassle-
free installation.

They are available from Magwarehouse.com
(Kelston, Manukau and Panmure), RRP $350,
or visit www.micro-compressor.co.nz

With more air you need more fuel, how is that supposed to save you anything? Just another crap product.

beat me to it. but would it inject more fuel if the butterfly is closed? i think it would just make your car run lean if you want to save fuel, get a new car. don't make your car run improperly

Psssshhhhhhh.....I'll just use several cans of compressed air and port it right into the intake manifold and feel the power for a fraction of the price of one of those.

Ummmm.... there is already 'unmetered air' coming in, isn't there? From the PCV hose. If I recall correctly it enters the IM *after* the MAF. And the quantity of air coming out of that PCV hose is not exactly tiny.
I don't see it as being that much of an issue however. If 'unmetered' air enters the IM, any tendency to make the mixture too lean is surely going to be picked up by the oxygen sensors, and fed back to the ECU as a control signal, yes? Anything wrong with my reasoning?

Pretty much what I thought but I barely know how to drive and have no clue what makes it drive.

FST...haha...the MAF and ECU would love this thing.

Turbonators? Hey...you're not going to tell me that they're a con are you? Spent heaps of money to get 4 of them into my engine bay - had to downsize to a 1.6 4-pot to make them all fit. HAHAHA...
