Yesterday i turn my lights on and i noticed my high beam indicator is on. So i toggle the light stalk and i see the light is still on ???? i go outside and see that my driver side light is out ..
But my passenger side light is on and is NOT in high beam mode ??? yet the blue light for highbeam is still on ..

So at this point i think maybe the bulb is burned out and this is nissans safety warning to let me know .. fine so i change the bulb to a different bulb.. now the high beam light goes away but my driver side headlight is still off.

I am thinking maybe i melted the harness ? but why is the high beam indicator on ?

well, just take a look in the driver's headlamp socket and see if u can see any kind of destruction or melting of the socket. There should be like 3 squares or something in the headlamp. If those 3 squares look kinda deformed, then its most likely melted.

You should compare it to a new 9004 socket and see if there is any difference between that. If u are running hi-wattage headlamp bulbs (100/80 watts), this melting will happen eventually through time, and if both of your sockets are bad, i would just get a replacement 9004 socket for each side from Pepboys/Autozone (its like $3 bux each). Once you replace that, go get a 9004 Universal Upgrade Harness Kit at www.suvlights.com. I think they have the best prices for that.

As far as the blue light thing, I've had that happen to me and I don't know why it would turn off when u put the regular 9004 bulb in the driver headlamp. It might have to do with the wattage or something. I'm not sure tho. Anyway, good luck and hope this helps!

thanx guys

i'm runnin Naxos blue bulbs 80/100 watt and NO i don't recommed them i only got them cuz they were free...

my passenger side harness already melted around 2 months ago .. when i took it out it was a LUMP of plastic i had to rip it off the bulb .. all i did was cut it off and crip connectors onto each of the wires and slide them onto the bulb and it's worked fine since then

anyways i'll do this to the driver side and see wut happens ..

sounds like your low beam + is feeding into your high beam + causing the indicator to stay on whenever your lights r on. The wires must be touching in one of you bulb connectors.

sorry forgot to post
I fixed the problem .. my harness was bad
i just cut it off and crimped on a connector to each wire and hooked them up to the bulb.. works fine now
i chose not to attach a new harness cuz it will just melt again .. this way i know it won't melt
