Biggest ones I can think of is to avoid making a lot of short trips in city traffic, keep your car tuned to specs, use synthetic fluids, change (or clean) your air, oil and fuel filters regularly, reduce the excess weight in the car, keep your tires inflated 2-3 lbs past the recommended levels, and pretend that your car has the acceleration of a fully-loaded 18-wheeler.

there was an article in sportcompactcar about improving gas mileage. most of it was stupid practical stuff, like making sure you don't have too much luggage/unnecessary weight in your car. anyway I'm getting a consistent 410

I fill up early, but get around 320-380, depending on how I drive, and where I'm driving, so about 420-430 I guess?

just got 28mpg in city/highway combo on 93 octane!

With only city driving I'm getting 330 on a complete tank. And by city driving I mean I love punching it and feeling that horsepower!

In City i get around 360 to 400. On Road trips if i can keep it under 80 MPH i can get about 460 to 480 on a tank. Best ever was 504, But i was running out of gas pulling into the gas station.

95 max SE With Cold Air intake and 16" After market rims.

I've got a '99 with automatc. I think in mpg rather than miles per tank, mostly because I usually refill when I get below a quarter of a tank. So I would say that worst case scenario I get 21-22mpg in city driving, and up to 30 mpg in highway driving 75mph+. I'm sure that if I was highway driving around 60mph I could do a little better at highway mileage, but not much. 30 mpg is pretty darn good for a 3.0 V6 with an automatic.

I just got my 98GX - all stock w/ auto - 15" wheels. Her in Canada it's km - I'm only on 4th tank of gas - about 500km so far. That's around 320 miles by the time i fill up.
By the way, gas here is .99 / litre = $ 3.80 CD = 3.25 / gal USD
maybe helium in tires to lighten car ???

Granny driving in the city I got 300 on one tank easily and that was about 19mpg.
Still in the city but driving like my usual self (aka a complete ***) I get 16mpg but Im pretty sure I can make 300 on a tank like that (so I voted 300-399).
Mixed highway and city-like-an-*** gets me about 19-20mpg.
All highway - dont know yet.

With a '98 5-speed that's stock except for 17's and some added weight from amps and subs, I think I average around 22mpg with just a little more city driving than highway. I thought I had a lead foot, but I guess I'm not bad compared to some of the other numbers here.

Filled up weekend past. 61 ltr ( 16 gal )@ $1.03 / ltr . 490 km = 310 miles
That's about 19 mpg, with 1/2 highway miles at 65mph and 1/2 city miles at no more than 40mph - very light foot.

'98, stock except for chrome 18's (heavy as f*ck) (no, i did not put them on and they are being replaced)

just took a road trip - 100% highway miles, <290 miles to a tank - i almost threw up.

then i noticed that the mild gas smell i was noticing inside was in fact not due to a leaky/cracked hose as suggested, but to a nonexistant primary o ring on one of the injectors - i was losing ounces per drive : i almost threw up some more.

the wheels have been replaced, the o ring replaced, the fuel, air, n oil filters replaced, hopefully we'll see some improvements.

pump a tank full, reset odometer, drive in city only. city means stop and go with light and moderate steady cruise. When fuel light comes up, go pump it, record however many gallos you're pumping, divide trip odom reading by amount of gallons you've pumped. That's city milage.

If and when you get to go on the interstates for more than 5 hours, you can do the same method, except refrain your driving to be on the interstates only. That'll give you your highway milage.
