Problem with My 95Max, Help !! Chugging

This morning I felt like the car didn't have much spunk to it.
I started thinking maybe I am just imagining things. After getting off the
highway, I start rolling to a stop and the car is pushin forward, like its chugging along. I give it gas as I pass the stop light, and it sounds as if I am running on like a few less cylinders. Sounds as if it is sputtering, chugging along. Can't really explain it, but you can hear it and feel it in the car. The floorboard of the car shakes, and so does the sterring wheel. And now this evening on the way home, the Engine light starts flashing, and now it just stays on. uughhh

Does anyone have any input for me on this, I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks a million guys/gals.

-John

When was the last time you changed the spark plugs? That could be an issue!

I haven't done that yet. The car only has 31K miles on it.
But they are still old. I actually picked up the NGK Irdium plugs a few months ago, but just haven't installed them yet.
I was searching around and found some people saying the O2 sensor.

31000 miles on a 1995? Damn, that's low! Was it in storage for a long time? Maybe it just needs a fresh tune up (spark plugs, oil, etc) or something, but I doubt that'll fix the problem.

Good luck though

Yeah well kinda sorta, the car was owned by an older lady who lived in NYC and took the car for groceries, and doctors.....etc. My dad ended up buying the car from her and then the car ended up being mine after he passed
I have been driving her since begining of October now and this is the first problem. I already changed all of the oils already, so I just need a few filters and plugs, and whatever else is causing the mess up now.

sounds like spark plugs issues, but i'd go ahead and do a full tune up if you haven't done so.

My car also sputters too, or actually it's more like bogging. When i hit the gas sometimes it's like it's stuck in second gear and doesn't want to move. Also have SEL on and i am getting front right 02 sensor and KS codes. I have 171,000 miles so it's a little different.

Could it be gummed up from so much sitting around idle?

I seem to remember some injector tricks in previous posts.
Have a good search!

May want to try using some injector cleaner, like a bottle of Techron or Seafoam. Check the Fluids and Lubricants forum here for more detail.

I was just going to tell you to check to see if your fuel injectors were clogged. I had this happen to me too. I put 2 bottles of extra strength fuel injector cleaner in a full tank of gas and drove it till I only had about a 1/4 of a tank left and never had the problem again.

yeah luckily a friend of mine has a really good friend who works for a Nissan dealership and they tred cleaning it. The tech was like all the other injecters are fine, this one is just dead. It wouldn't come back even after the dealer cleaned the entire system.

So they are gonna change it next week, hopefully I can get the car back by like Wednesday.

Thanks a million guys for all your help.
I did some searches and found a few imilar issues, but other people had other
issues, spark plugs, coils.... etc. No one haf failed injectors.

Well 31K miles and a bad one, geez, like you ya said in yor post (forgot yor name) all the laying around prolly messed it up.

I'll repost when I get the ride back, let you all know how much better the car is.
