what do i need for 300zx brake upgrade
i just rearended a lady earlier this week and caused a good amount of damage to my car. i feel that i had plenty of time to stop but my car has horrible brakes and i am Pi**ed so my boy has a (2) 300zx twin turbos and tons and tons of parts he gave me rebuilt calipers and all i need to do i get the rotors... is there anything else i need for the front brakes such as brakets or stanless steel brake lines .. please email me i dont really have enough time during my work schedule to jump on here all the time.. my email addy is mattleo@tmail.com thanks guys
never done a brake conversion on a maxima but I know that the 240sx needed a pair of calipers, brake lines, master brake cylinder and rotors from the 300zx. For the maxima I suppose you would need a bracket to mount the calipers since the rotors are bigger, but see if you can get a bracket the would allow you to use the 350z rotors instead. I mean why opt for a 10.8" rotor from a 300zx when you can have a 12" rotor from the 350z.

Use his calipers and the rotors to go with them, the rotors will need to be milled down 2-4mm of there diameter.
You will also need to cut the dust sheild off, and grind down the control ar a bit.
You will also need conversion lines, but you could try the 300z lines if you have access to them. Im not sure if they will work or not but the majority of people using the Z32 calipers use conversion lines.

If you do decide on upgrading your brakes, look here: http://www.mattblehm.com/brakes.htm

Highly agreed. It (almost) doesnt matter what Braking setup you have. You just realize you have 10-20 feet to stop from 60mph-0... your not going to make it. A better braking system would get you to a lower speed than say stock but you'll still hit the person.
As for your question, Matt sells the relocation brackets, hub rings, and SS lines you'd need. Get some cobra rotors and good fluid and your ready to go.
If you guy Matt's parts, you won't be able to use the Cobra rotors. You need to buy the brackets/rings from me ($90 shipped) to use the 13" Cobra rotors. You however can buy the ss lines from Matt
If you want more stopping power, you need to upgrade to the larger rotors. Just using the calipers and small Z rotors will give you great feel and fade resistance. Unfortunately, you would have hit that lady. The increased torque advantage of using the larger rotors will help give you more stopping torque. If you have good tires that is.
