another LED bulb thread,

saw these on superbrightleds.com. but they were going for 20 bucks a piece. Then i found an ebay auction for 20 for the pair plus 3.50 shipping. let me know if anyone has used these, since i'm about to get them for my corner clearance lights, and i don't wanna get them if they dont provide the results i'm looking for.

i'm curious to know as well. the thing about LED's is the light from them is more focal than a filament bulb. and in our corner clearance lights, the bulb is oriented where these LED bulbs would be pointing straight up. i suppose white led's look really good, but the light output may not be what you are looking for, since they aren't pointing directly outward.

These look like surface mounts LEDs in small arrays (from what I can see). I have not used this exact cluster but have used similar(slightly bigger) ones. They produce a considerable amount of light at a wider angle but they also have to be heat sinked (in most applications). I would be very careful to make sure the heat can be dissipated effectively before using them for parking lights.

I've experimented with many methods of illumination at work and play and the surface mounts do not justify the cost and heat sinking requirements at the current technology. However, with demand and supply going up as OEMs start using these, they will be a feasible option in a few years.

I also didnt see the light output mentioned anywhere on the ebay lising and LEDs are not bulbs

I have bought LED's several times. It's sometimes hard to choose LED's because you may not know how they are going to look on your car.

My suggestion is look at somebody's car, see what they have and if you like it ask them what they got.

So far I bought 8 LED's but I'm using 5 because I didn't like how the others worked.

so whats the final verdict on these? I already have LEDs on my car...but one of them blew out...so I need replacement bulbs...I got them from autolumination...but it cost me like $20 for a pair...these are $10...worthy or not?
