axle / LCA related ?
axle / LCA related ?
'99 with 106k on it. at 99k, I had both axles replaced because of a clicking noise while turning the wheel. after the axle install, i started hearing a popping noise, and told myself "great, my balljoints are now out." is it possible the mechanic took the joints out to do the axle install, and then not correctly press them back in? or are the axles installed incorrectly? i've done some 90mph 30 mile sprints, and no problems. i was always under the impression of:
clicking - axles
popping - LCA balljoints
metal shaving - wheel bearing
creaking when wheel is turned close to the bumpstops - strut mounts
please correct me if i'm wrong
