New cat??
New cat??
Whats my best bet for a replacement of my cat. converter? I have had the same code pop outta my ECU for the cat about 5 times so I'm just going to replace it and see if that fixes the problem. My question is about performance. I have a y pipe on hand ready to install, stock cat for now, and a Greddy SP2 catback system. Would I be better off with an OEM part for the cat or perhaps something like Random Technology (or any other brand) cat?
Dont get anything but a stock cat. My Carsound fell apart, and many others have had RT cats go bad. I have a 91 sentra cat on my car now. Basically measure the cat, check if it has an O2 or not and look around on Nissan forums for a used cat. You cant buy them used legally, so its the only way to go. A junk yard will not sell a used one. New they are way over priced.
Performance wise stock is the way to go. Its 2.5" in and over 2.75" out. Aftermarket cats are 2.5" in and out.

I was under the impression that emissions control stuff was waranted for life. I dunno if Max is one of them. Anyways...
Stock dealership cat costs a grip. I went with Cattman Performance's cat, much more affordable and dyno proven gains. It changed my exhaust tone slightly. I passed emissions with flying colors.
