ECU error code 0412 or P0134

I keep getting this error code from my ECU but not sure what it means and did not see it anywhere in the sticky. Anybody else have any run ins with this? Any help with this problem would be greatly apreciated.

so it would be best to replace the sensor then? my car is a 99se has 112k on it currently and I have not replaced any of O2 sensors sense I bought it a little over 3 years ago with 39k on it.

edit: also is it best to go w/ oem or can i just put a bosch universal one in instead?

new sensor is about $80.00 and can be changed with open
end wrench, harness clips onto bracket on passenger side
of intake manifold. It's a bit of a gamble to change anything
without testing everything , but i've just gone ahead and
changed oxygen sensors when a code comes up and it's
always cured it.( Changed this one a couple of weeks ago)

I believe the universal requires splicing into the wires
and reusing your old harness plug, whereas oem style
is complete with new harness plug. I've just gone oem
style as cost difference wasn't too much.

I just replaced my rear sensor in my 98.

Go with the NGK from these guys. Excellently priced, esp. for a great brand, and a non-universal.

NGK, Rear, Non-California. $68

Good luck,

Oh, and if you need the O2 sensor wrench set, you can get a loaner from Autozone for a net of$0 when you bring it back.

Do you have to barrow tools? I just replaced my sister's O2 sensor and I just used a open end wrench, which was 3/4 or something like that, I don't have a 21mm so yeah.

I had to get the Autozone loaner because mine was on so tight. It was almost like it was installed without anti-seize - I actually had to jery-rig on an extension to my ratchet's handle to get enough torque to break it free. I couldn't make it happen with just a wrench. I actually went to Autozone for the kit after find that out the hard way.

So you might not need it, but for a net of $0 there would be any harm in having it on site before jacking up your car.
