Firestone Brake Service Quote, Need Suggestions

went to firestone today to get the brakes checked up and heres their recommendations: (i know the rotors needs to be changed bad)

decided to not go through w/ that and do it myself w/ others.
already changed out the front pads but couldn't figure out the rears.

i've checked out the group deals on the brembo and cobra rotors, but which do you guys think is best for the money?
i also checked out redlinemax.com and seems like their prices are cheaper then some of the group deals....?

That sounds about right for a shop. I went to Napa for most of my stuff and did it myself. My part list:

2 front rotors $28 each (napa)
1 set of front pads (Hawk HPS) $50
2 rear rotors $23 each (napa)
1 set of rear pads $18? (napa)

3 cans of brake cleaner $3 each
1 rear caliper tool $5?

total $185

Brakes and rides better than ever, the car now rolls on it's own now, brakes were hangin up.

First things first. Do you have at least 17" wheels. If not Cobra rotors are thrown out of the picture immediately.

Next if you do have 17s or bigger what calipers do you want to run? Q45/J30 or Z32 calipers?

Next you will need centering rings/brackets to complete this setup. And if you chose Z32 calipers you will need the Z32 SS lines.

If you are going to upgrade your brakes I highly recommend AutoMax in the group deal section. I suggest for everyday use just go with Brembo blanks with some Hawk HPS pads all the way around. And when it comes time to change the rear pads you need to rent a Caliper piston tool at Autozone. $38 with tax in my area. You get your money back once returned.

SS lines for better brake feel. And some quality brake fluid.

Then after you buy your stuff. Bookmark this page.

And follow their how-to on brakes.

Brakes are very easy to do no need for a shop to do the work. Just basic tools, jack, jackstands, and common sense.

Don't go to firestone for brakes. They are to expensive and their products are crap. They are only good for their lifetime alignments.

Forget Firestone. what a rip off They will not turn your rotors. I have been told by 2 nissan dealership I can turn the rotors and they say No they cannot. so a 99.99 brake job quoted me 337.00 for fronyt brakes. Had a local gas station do it for 220.00 comlete front with new rotors.

I am running brembo blank rotors with EBC green stuff pads and stock calipers, it works great.
Here is some links to cheaper prices then the one u posted:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=374496

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=422678

That 2nd link has the front blank brembos for 36 each. Thats only 72 for both rotors.

Are all your rotors in bad condition or you are just replacing them due to age? To do the rears you need to turn the Caliper piston not push. Renting the tool from Autozone will accomplish that. Unless your trying to do a brake upgrade, I would just suggest replacing pads and rotors.
