Intermittent wiper doesn't work. Fix??

Our 97 Maxima's intermittent wiper doesn't work. The regular and fast wipers do work, and it turns off fine (although it doesn't go back down -- we have to time it correctly when shutting it off).

We replaced the wiper switch, but that didn't fix it. We even tried the fuse (knowing it was ok), but that didn't fix it.

Any ideas? Is this a common problem?

Pretty sure

that your problem is the park-mechanism on the wiper motor. You should look into the repair manual, though.
