I'm so sure nobody thought of it yet!!!

Can you get to it from down bellow, after you lift the car up?

no offense man but that **** mad no sense at all, just use a extension a u joint and proper fitting socket and your straight. IF you cant losen the bolt get a long *** pipe connected it to ratchet, tighten the bolt slightly and then losen completely.

Which is still "on top" to me...as opposed to the bottom. How can you get to something sitting in the valley from below any easier than from the top?

Simple! Just remove the sump, unbolt the con rod, remove piston, stick your arm up the cylinder, Dremel your way through the cylinder head, and pull the KS out.
