lowering question
If you plan on just purchasing springs, go with something low and not that stiff (Tein H-Techs), so there won't be that much stress on the shocks. However, remember stock shocks will go, it is only a matter of time. I suggest, as well as everyone prob will on here that you go with adjustable shocks and springs. Illuminas or agx's for shocks, and w/e u want for springs. I personally have agx's/eibachs and love the setup.
My Nissan Maxima
I was wondering i just bought a Nissan Maxima SE 1996 at a used car dealership, and the guy didnt give me a remote, but the car has the security alarm, illuminated mirrors, and power driver seat that is on the security and convienence package, might i have a keyless entry system installed just no remote?
And can i buy a remote off of ebay, and would it work?
thanks.

and about lowering the max Mlfrdballa10, you can do just springs. but it can be a better idea to try to do struts and springs at once, but its all up to you.
MaximA StyLeZ layed it out for you. oh and always remember, do it right the first time.

I've been running Megan Racing springs for over 2 months(2.5k miles) on stock shocks and surprisingly, they're not blown yet. About 2 weeks ago, i cut the front springs to increase the springrate and make the drop lower. Now i have a little less than a 2 finger gap in the front and 3 finger gap in the rear, all on stock shocks. The roads around here pretty much suck for the most part because of construction, but the shocks haven't blown yet. If you get H-Tech, your stock shocks will probably work well for a long time, so don't even worry about it. Most people who say that stock shocks will blow with aftermarket springs never even had stock shocks with aftermarket springs. I do understand that it's a better idea to upgrade the shocks as well, but some people like me don't have the extra $400.
BTW, my car has 87k right now.

greatlor, check out the FAQ's or search (use google and type site:forums.maxima.org after the search criteria). There is plenty of info about keyless entry and reprogramming key fobs to work with your car.

im lowered on sprints and stock struts..its kinda rough..I dont recomend it but I only spent like $90 the springs and I took part in the installation so it was free..it was a lot better than $500 for illuminas and I was in h/s at the time. So I didnt really have much of an income

You are just taking physical length off the spring.

Another thing. I don't know why you call me buddy. I don't know you, you're not my buddy, I don't want to be your buddy, so have some respect and don't call somebody you don't know 'buddy'.
Fr33way-I don't know if that was a serious question or if you're just being a smartass, but cutting does increase the spring rate. You must not know how a spring is made or how it works if you're asking that question. Just look up online how cutting will increase the spring rate, there are a bunch of websites that will explain it much better than I can.
EDIT: sorry for hijacking your thread with this BS
OH the hostility and madness!!
Cant we all just get along!!
When I first got my coilover set-up, I did the mistake of dropping the hell out of it and traveling from Phoenix to El PAso...by the time I had returned to Phx, my shocks and struts were blown! I felt like I was driving a boat.
I knew my shocks were gonna give out but I did it anyway cuz my KYB AGX's had already been ordered.

cutting a spring can increase the spring rate... i can understand that. but what happens if the spring comes unperched while ur driving? not too smart eh? so much for progessive spring rates...maybe you should join honda tech with ur spring cutting antics. its not safe first of all and its ghetto as all hell. and if ur megan springs had 5 fingers of gap, you should a. call them and be like wtf is wrong with ur product, and b. get a refund and buy some real springs.
