Does this sound right??

I bought some JDm blk/chrome bumper lights from CE, and i have no idea on how to install them ( im a rookie), so i took them to a shop and they say they may have to take off the whole bumper to install them; is it that serious or is their an easier way to do this?

Wow. What kind of shop did you go to. It takes roughly 5 minutes to change them. Pry out the outter light with a screw driver and remove the screw holding in the inner. Take out the sockets and replace. Easiest mod you can do. And cross that shop off of your list of any shop to use in the future. That is just a rough write up there is a real one in the stickies.

NEVER go back to the shop.

If you happen to have an owner's manual use the procedure for changing those bulbs. I would rate this mod right above putting gas in your car.

Trust us, once you do it you will be so mad someone tried to rape you.

Carefully, pry out the side lamp wher it meets the front lamp & pullout.
Remove screw to change front lamp, unscrew bulb sockets & reverse to install!
Don't ever go back to that chop shop!!!

Oh man, do you need another shop, or better yet RUN FOR YOUR MAAX's LIFE. Its rather easy. Take a flat head to side lamp and pry. Phillips to front lamp screw. unhook bulbs and instal is reverse of disassembly.

Thats funny!! the things some shops will say to jack up the price. I remember when I first bought my car, i went to a shop to have a basic tune-up (spark plugs, oil change, etc..) and the guy was saying for me to buy the timing belt so he can replace it... i got in my car and bounced! Never looked back and never went back!

(Sorry I got off the subject)

Anyways....the lights are easy to install

I would actually go back to that shop, ask again how much it was gonna cost. Play dumb. When they say its because they have to take the bumper out, etc, then correct them, and tell them how easy it is to do, and walk out. Make sure you tell them in a tone that denotes that they are idiots and don't know what they are doing, and for a better effect, do it when other customers around. Be prepared to NEVER go back to that shop again because they will hate you for doing that as much as you hate them for trying to overcharge you.

There's only one person on this thread that answered the question correctly. It's not just a matter of "sticking a flat-head screwdriver and pry"...there are three different places to try & pry the light out. A newbie can end up damaging his bumper/light if he selected the wrong spots.
