what is the advantage of getting a aftermarket bpipe if the aftermarket ypipe holds all the power>> is the bpipe worth puchasing??

 

The sizing of the pipe is a little bit bigger than stock and you can get a SS one so you dont have to worry about rusting. Most aftermarket ones are not crush bent so the piping size stays the same (they're mandrel bent)

It'll probably be cheaper to have one made for you at an exhaust shop, but those will be crush bent (not much of a difference for most people or daily drivers)

 

i see a b-pipe or catback as something that if your stock one is rusting, should be replaced. but if the stock piping is fine, it's not really worth the investment. to each their own, but i would wait until it is necessary and then upgrade to SS or something.

 

I just wish someone would put out identical piping/sound as stock, but it is stainless steel. Isn't much to ask for and would be 100% ideal for replacing rusted components ... and it looks better.

 

that would be neat....but crush bending stainless..i dunno. its bastardization.

I'll look into your request. I'm in the process of investigating the cost of having some b pipes mandrel bent at a local shop, one for me personally, and a few more that I had planned to post for local .org members. I plan to tig weld stainless flanges on them, so they would be 100% 304L stainless steel. The key to having pipe mandrel bent, is volume. The bender is a very expensive piece of equipment, so companies who have them must charge accordingly for its use. The beauty is, they are programable so once the bends are programmed, it's a matter of feeding the pipe in and pressing go. The cost goes down significantly the more pipe you have bent.
