Using custom bpipe and Flowmaster.

Hey guys, I have decided to try using a flowmaster muffler and custom 2.5' bpipe on my 2003 max. I may even use a resonator. I have encountered a couple of problems. 1. The muffler of choice, 60 series flowmaster, only makes a 2.25 in and out design. I need a 2.5 with the bpipe design. The flowmaster dealer is attempting to sell me a 40 series muffler, but that one is nearly double in sound volume. Is it worth just adding a 2.25 custom bpipe or go with a different muffler, and do what I can to make it quiet. Thanks.

I thought about that, but the guy told me it was only for trucks. Does anyone know where the the inlet pipe should be...Centre, left right?

Copy the stock one.

Trucks? Just measure ROUGHLY your stock canister dimensions and see if Flowmaster has one similar.

I wonder if anyone on here knows. Good news though, local shop here has the 50 series stainless steel model for 170$ can. Just need to know the details of my stock size and all.

Why spend $170 on a flowtech instead of $117 on a PowerTech muffler? What is the advantage of the flowmaster?

He's requiring SS, so that's much of the cost otherwise for aluminized steel it's $70-80.

I've never heard or looked into the PowerTech, but I'm pretty sure it's your typical perforated straight through design with sound deadening packing that will be loud and get louder over time.

You may like that though.
