!?P0400 Code?!
!?P0400 Code?!
Autozone told me it was something with the exhaust!!! I had an exhaust leak by the Mid pipe (the gasket melted!!!). I had a new gasket put in but I got the code afterwards!! Any ideas? Suggestions?
Here are some ideas and suggestions from the Nissan Service Manual (1998) pg. EC-256
Diagnostic Trouble:
Code No. P0400
0302
Malfunction is detected when ...
The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) flow is excessively
low ...
Check Items (Possible Cause):
* EGR valve stuck closed (see below)
* EGRC-BPT valve leaks
* Vacuum hose to EGR valve clogged, cracked or improper connection.
* EGRC-solenoid valve not operating
* Tube leaking for EGR valve
* EGR temperature sensor defective
* Exhaust gas leak (Check exhaust pipes and muffler for leaks)
Overall Function Check:
Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature. Check the EGR valve lifting when revving engine up to 3,000 rpm quickly under no load. EGR valve should lift up and down without sticking.

It is located below the flexible portion of the air intake (the ribbed portion) on the firewall side. Straight back from the Engine coolant temperature sensor.

Off to the folks' house, good luck.

Settle down flame-bird. You "resetted" your light. Ok, I suspect you "hadded" an exhaust leak or something relateded" to the EGR. If your light "comes back up" now you have some "answerses". So get on with it. (BTW, I don't believe you have a full command of the English language, but whatever).
