Leather seat tear, help please.

Got a tear about 2" long at rear seat head rest. I have not time to do the leather fixed by myself. Any suggestion? I am around San Jose, CA.

go to an upolstery shop, they''' just replace that piece from the seams, not the whole thing. It won't be as much as you think.

I almost have that same problem. I went to 3 shops, and all 3 said the same thing that the majority of the leather had to be replaced. Because once they seperate that piece(center top between the head rests) you would not be able to sew a new piece back to the other remaining pieces. Does that sound like they are playin' me?

I guess if it's really, super 1938 old leather, then maybe, but I had it done and Iv had some friends that have had it done. I think it's cuz it's leather, they won't make much money off just a little peice. They want you to do the whole thing. Just tell them you want a nice fix, nothing spectacular, just to get it back to normal....

I also have to probably get my leather reupholstered. How much would it take to redo all the seats? Would it be cheaper to swap out the seats? (power/heated front seats though)

walmart has a leather repair kit. I saw it breifly and from the pics on the package, a big tear after repairing will be gone, you can even tell it was there.

Just throwing it out there.

It would probably be cheaper to get some seats from a wreck car. OR you could get them from http://www.auto-interior.com/leathercover21.htm#Maxima for aBOUT $699.00. But you would have to instal yourself or pay someone.
